    29 Palms Cowboy Action Shoot.

Cowboy action shoot tomorrow at the 29 Palms Rifle and Pistol club, starts at 9:00 AM, usually done by noon. Followed by a combat shoot. Mostly steel, different set up every month. Come on out. You should have a single action revolver, lever action rifle and non jacketed bullets, you will also need a shotgun, preferably a coach gun but if not a non ejecting side by side or a pump gun that you can single load.

Entrance fee is $5 for the cowboy action portion and $2 for the combat shoot. All monies are given to the top 3-4 shooters.

Thinking about this for next fall.
Every third Saturday of the month?
I am interested in the combat portion.
Can you shoot the combat portion only?
    Weapons and ammo for that?

    Thanks

Yes, every third Saturday of the month.

Yes you can shoot the combat portion only if you like, it usually is at least 2 hours after the start of the cowboy action.

Any semi auto centerfire with non jacketed bullets, lead(Copper plated is OK) or frangible bullets are OK, holster, eye protection and ear protection are required.

If you have a double action revolver there are usually a couple shooters that would be happy for some more competition.

The combat action shoot is generally a good time. Most guys run 1911's with a Glock thrown in there too. Come out and join us, the more the merrier.

EOD is a science of vague assumptions based on debatable data taken from inconclusive experiments with instruments of problematic accuracy by persons of questionable mentality.

Beyond the entry fee for the shoot, it is also $5 a day for non-member use of the range. Or you could sign up for $60 a yr, which gets 24/7/365 access.

Thanks. Most of our time has been spent working on our homestead on weekends, so not much range time. I've been a member for about five years now. Ammo is going to be a problem for me though. I'm well stocked on FMJ for pistol and rifle, but I have no lead or frangible. I could trade for proper ammo. Short of that I think I might be SOL unless I can find some at a reasonable price.
