Gunrunners in Duarte? Is he the Hispanic person that owns the Truck that has gunrunners on the side. OMG. I was there last week talking with him. Was he sole owner or did he have a partner? When a Good Gun shop owner passes away, usually the shop also closes down. Man, I feel real bad for the family. Anybody giving donations for the family. I need to stop by any give a donation.

Paul was not only a good dealer, he was a good friend.

I am really going to miss him.

Paul sold me my first rifle while he worked at Fed Ord 19 years ago.

Over the years, I purchased many different firearms from Paul while he worked at Fed Ord, then Tuans and when he opened Gunrunners.

Paul also taught me allot about collecting, shooting and hunting over the years.

I am personally going to miss Paul.

I called Gunrunners and spoke to Johnny and offered my condolences to Paul's family and the Gunrunners staff, and I asked if there is a way to help the family out, and he said nothing had been set up yet, but to check back soon.

The few times I've been to the store, and on occasion when he was there, he always said or did something that caused a contagious smile or laugh among customers in the store, in a good way. I didn't know him personally, but he had great charisma; one of those kind of people that you like just upon first meeting them, and for no reason other than he telegraphed to others an honest, open, legitimate truth, backed by a great luminescent personality; because of that, he could draw your attention and focus just by entering a room. I feel I have lost a friend that I never got a chance to know better.

RIP Paul.

First time I met him was when he was working at Tuan's. I was just getting into firearms, and decided to ask some questions.

Me: I got some questions.
Paul: Don't do it.

I bought my first lower from him after he opened Gunrunners. Gonna miss you.

I was just down their this morning. Was having a conversation with Johnny the shop manager, good person by the way. He told us that Paul, just did not wake up one morning. He mentioned that the shop had another partner, so I'm assuming they'll stay in business.

RIP; that guy was an American Hero. He ended just a little bit of infringement of our Constitutional rights. His shop offered recievers (AR, AK, even UZIs ) while Big 5 and Turners still won't touch them.

As far as I'm concerned, Paul and his Gunrunners shop is up there with Harriot Tubman and Audie Murphy.

He seemed pretty young too. I don't think he was 60 yet. Man, life is short. Maybe I shouldn't feel so guilty about spending money on guns.

Smile TRIBUTE TO PAUL

I was shocked and saddened to learn last week that Paul had passed away. I had the pleasure of first meeting him when he was employed by Federal Ordinance in El Monte back in the early 90's. He subsequently went to work at Tuan's gun store in Rowland Heights and finally purchased his own gunstore in Duarte. Through the years we had kept in contact and it was always a pleasure to speak with him and pick his brain about gun issues in California and I was always impressed with his knowledge of firearms and of his gunsmithing talents. I last spoke with him last year at the Glendale gun show where I purchased a firearm from him, and had a long conversation with him about building an OLL AR for me. My 14 year old son was with me and after the show, commented about "how nice and friendly Paul was" and was impressed that he took the time to answer my son's questions.
Paul was a true gentleman, had a gentle soul and will be terribly missed by the people who's lives he touched. May he rest in peace, dance with the angels and know that he will never be forgotten as a fellow comrade in the gun world.

wow, it always sad when we lose someone willing to go the extra mile, and the ones that do it don't even think of it as extra. I always heard great things about him, but never found the time to get out there. His family and co-workers are definitely in my thoughts.

I bought my OLL from Gunrunners back in Jan.'06...when I thought that we only had 2 weeks to do it.

Paul helped me...answered many of my questions.

I was there last month to do a PPT.

Rest in Peace......

I knew Paul a little bit away from his shop. I shot a match with his son James at West End. Paul must have been a good guy he has left us with a great kid.
