Default Featureless grip method question thingy

So in theory if there was a grip wrap on and my thumb resting on the sling mount like this, will it pass for a non "pistol grip" hold?

(btw finger is not touching the trigger my finger tip is just canted downward for what ever reason...)

I suspect that would be a 'thumb hole stock' - same legal issues as a pistol grip.

Doubt it. The crux of the pistol grip law is so that you can't put your thumb on the other side of the rifle.

Looks like a normal grip to me. Millions of Americans run this same one.
