Default Handgun PPT questions

1) Can a non CA resident bring a non roster gun into CA?

2) Can a non CA resident bring a non roster gun into CA and sell/transfer it to a friend at a gun store?

3) Can a non CA resident bring a non roster gun into CA and sell/transfer it to their father/son at a gun store?

1) yes.

2) no, it is against the law to bring an off roster handgun into the state for the purpose of selling it.

3) yes, lineal interfamilial transfers are exempt from the roster. But it will be transferred as an out of state sale and the fees will not be limited as they are in a PPT.

2) Yes........... If they convert it to a roster exempt firearm or if they are selling it to a roster exempt person.

And, since you specify PPT in the thread title, (2) and (3) are technically 'no', since as implemented, PPT is for only those with CA ID - but an interstate transfer is possible.
