Default Best Deals on CA Compliant AKs

Hey guys...

I just sold one of my rifles and I think I want to buy an AK with the money. I've been looking at WASRs and some other variants but I just wanted to see if anyone knew of any specials going on right now.

I've checked the commercial sales and private sales sections but didn't see much.

Thanks for your help, guys...

I'd prefer something like a WASR. I know that you can convert a Saiga to a pistol grip style rifle but I don't want to have to do that. I think if I wanted that style of rifle, I' just get an SKS.

As for any good deals, I cannot answer that.

Neither can I answer about a Saiga or WASR...I don't even know what those are, though context would indicate that they are AK-related.

What I do know is that I walked into a Big 5 store a year ago and saw something on their gun rack. I asked to see it and could not believe my eyes...it was an AK47. IN Big 5. I told the guy to start the paperwork and then looked the rifle over. I had never heard of a CASAR, but that is what it was.

It is short...way shorter than an SKS and much lighter. Being short and light it is very easy to carry around.

After I purchased it, I came home and looked into the rifle and read a lot of negative things about it. So I thought, I'll just wait for the gun to get out of jail and see.

I have now had it for a year and have not have had a single issue with it. I had read that its maker, IO Inc. had made some improvements. They must have because it not only shoots great, it bump-fires like a champ. In fact it has become one of my favorite guns. Though I am mostly into hunting and not so much into 'black guns', this little tyke is the first gun I grab when I take the dogs for a walk in the woods (gun is to scare the mountain lion away before vet bills start accruing.) And it is so easy to carry, slung over your shoulder, that you almost forget you have it along.

I think it cost $500-600. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. I recommend it with no reservation. It is a really fun gun...and almost got my mug aired on Wild Justice, but that is another story...

If you're in Socal, I'd pay a visit to Straightline Tactical in Anaheim, they have a wasr 10/63 double stack (will take normal AK mags) and a Polish AKMS with Underfolding metal stock.

Both rifles are 7.62x39 ...

Both are reasonably priced, the Polish is $589 & the wasr is bit less.

Straightline Tactical
327 South Magnolia Avenue
Anaheim, CA 92804

If you're in San Diego, there's a gun shop down there that may have more flavors of AKs, I think they're called DSA, but I could be wrong!

Good luck & welcome to the AK world ...
