Default How many magazines per pistol?

Just wondering how many magazines do you feel you have to have per handgun? For me, I have to have at least 4 mags, but I can never have enough rifle mags.

Minimum 8 mags per gun (5 for range and training and 3 for CCW/HD).

I have about 6-10 per caliber but would feel comfortable at around 20 per caliber.

I would say 5, that way you have a full box of ammo ready to go... that is if they are all 10rd "non-Laughner-style" mags.

Just read in a news article that they are now referring to high-cap mags as Laughner-style... completely ridiculous.

Between 6 and 12.

Trying to figure out how to deal with the revolver.... lowest capacity, least convenient to load, arguably bulkiest "magazines" (speedloaders).

I ordered a couple of speed strips, will see how I like them. If they work, then I'll get between 6 and 12.

I don't think you will ever have to top off your mags, but from the looks of it, that could be a week long project. LOL!!!

least 3 but more the better. although IMO more than you can realistically carry is a bit excessive.

I don't go by rounds, I go by feeding issues at the range. Practice isn't just for you but it's rehearsal for your gun.

The producers of the A&E TV show Hoarders are always looking for new people whose inability to let go of their belongings is so out of control that they are unable to function in their own homes without climbing gear. I am jealous however!!

For me it's 5, this is because I have two double mag carriers for my belt, plus one in the gun, means 5. However, more can never hurt, and I like having mags that are always loaded so when I go to the range I don't have to unload my JHP for FMJ, I can just swap mags.

Default 8+ per weapon

Seriously, you can't have too many fresh magazines.

On my 14 GLOCK collection I have a minimum of 8 per weapon. Some I have more than 10 per weapon.

For instance in 10MM, on this GLOCK 20 I run 8 magazines. 6 are for Zombie Encounters and 2 are marked with an orange floor plate for range use.

I like these 5 pack mag carriers. They protect my investment; they are handy to carry (fit nicely in a briefcase or range bag)..they can be carried on your belt. It has a velcro flap. It only take a few seconds to grab one and toss it in my locked travel case.

http://glockstore.com/pgroup_descrip...%2BHolsters%2F

For my .45s (1911) I have probably a dozen mags per weapon (8 .45s) that I have collected over the years. A big box full. Some are just for the range because they are getting old; I am too lazy to respring them. LOL

I've got it stuck in my head that I should have a minimum of 4 mags per auto loader. Don't know why, but whenever I get a new one I make sure I have at least 4.

I used to think having a bunch of mags was silly. After running around 5k rounds through the same three Glock high caps I started getting FTF's. I found rounds were tuning on end inside the mags. Replaced the springs and they were GTG. Now I bought four more just in case.

10-20 minimum, there is no cap on maximum unless your bank account is hurting and you can't afford more debt.

On my person: 3 is minimum, including the one in the gun.

Total owned: Minimum of 10 per gun, and as many as you can effectively keep track of should be the maximum.

Although that has truth to it, it also depends heavily on your strategy for adverse events that might occur in our lifetimes. Good to have plenty of mags ready to go on the move, and if there are too many to carry, store/hide them in a locked, bolted safe or other storage unit, or go unconventional and put them in a box and bury it somewhere.

As many as you can buy.
