His name is Tommy Hayes. Key quote:

Quote:
A policy I would change is Yolo County’s CCW Policy. The current policy is discriminatory, often denying qualified citizens a CCW permit simply because they do not own a business. The current policy denies people such as nurses, firefighters, office managers with large sums of cash, prior victims of violence and shift workers. Business owners are not the only ones that have a right to keep themselves safe, our families deserve safety over property. We cannot have law enforcement everywhere, nor would we want to. I would change the policy to mirror our surrounding county’s successful CCW policies. I would make the application process available to all residents, requiring extensive background checks and training requirements.

When I lived in Sutter County, I was speaking with the sheriff about his CCW policy and qualifying. His response was: We can't be every where and when I issue a permit, I want to make sure they can hit the target.'

I still have some Family and property in Yolo, I will ensure they do not vote for the current tyrant sheriff.

If he gets elected, I wonder if he will issue non-resident permits for those that left the state but still own property in Yolo......I am much more concerned about my safety in CA/yolo/sac counties than my current location in FL.

That would appear to be a state issue regardless of what the sheriff thinks as they can issue non-resident permits but they’d be only good for 90 days and only in the county issued…

Rog. That's a pretty worthless permit, unfortunately. Gotta sell that house asap!

And only for business purposes:
Quote:
26220.
(a) Except as otherwise provided in this section and in subdivision (c) of Section 26210, a license issued pursuant to Section 26150 or 26155 is valid for any period of time not to exceed two years from the date of the license.
(b) If the licensee’s place of employment or business was the basis for issuance of a license pursuant to Section 26150, the license is valid for any period of time not to exceed 90 days from the date of the license. The license shall be valid only in the county in which the license was originally issued.

No use for sheriffs who won’t allow citizens to take advantage of their RIGHTS! Arrogance in my opinion.
Hope Yolo citizens ditch Perez.
