Free training for Juniors (Santa Clara County)

Folks:

My CMP Club (the San Jose Zouaves) in conjunction with the Santa Clara County Parks, provides free marksmanship training to Junior shooters every 2nd Saturday at the Santa Clara County Field Sports Park in South San Jose. See http://www.zouaves.org/junior for all of the details.

To summarize: we provide single shot 22 rifles, instruction, coaching, ammo, the range and targets. We provide eye and ear protection, as well (but, if your child has some she or he loves, please bring it).

What you bring: your 10-20 year old, signed authorization and liability waivers (on our website). Please drop a line to mailto:sjzouaves@gmail.com so we can get a headcount. (note: if you have a group of 10 or more, you must contact us 2 weeks in advance: we get a lot of Scouts, Explorers and JROTC groups).

That depends on Santa Clara County Parks & Rec: once they give us a training protocol, we can restart.

As of right now, it's masks & social distancing, so there is no way for us to be close enough to our students to effectively train.

FYI, Richmond Rod and Gun has a juniors clinic that is running right now. They only have a few kids and would to see more participation. My friends son helps run the program and I can put anyone in touch if they’re interested in having their kids participate.
