This target system will hang a tire over the plate and capture splatter and fragments for safety and disposal.

This system is perfect for indoor ranges where spall control is needed to minimize ceiling damage and cleanup.

We used the Tire Target System in our HESCO Shoot House stage to eliminate damage to the fabric walls from bullet splatter off the steel. 120 shooters shot the stage with RIFLES (frangible bullets) and shotguns over the 2 day match. You will notice that some of the plates fell into the tire. This was due to the range help setting them up incorrectly. Properly installed, the Tire Target System will hold up to continued heavy use without failure.

I figured spatter would be able to cut right through the rubber, I have seen what it does to wood.

We've used these targets in a HESCO shoot house for the last 3 years using handgun, shotgun and .223 w/ frangibles with the same tires. The targets live in the shoot house year round for training and we shoot a 3 gun match with them every year with over 200 shooters each year. Surprisingly there is no cutting or tearing on the tires and very little embedding of jacket fragments, unlike wood posts which turn into razor blades and splinters. We've shot them with handgun, shotgun and rifle (w/ frangible bullets) at point blank ranges with no frags coming back at the shooter. However, the plate MUST be smooth with no chipping to shoot these targets that close. Bullet holes in the tires are self sealing and the tires should never need replacement. Just empty them occasionally and melt the lead.
