I'm assuming this is pistol here? You seem relatively new. It is not my intention to insult your intelligence, or to be patronizing sir. But, unless this is a pistol, the minute you put that 10.5" upper on your lower, you have an 'SBR' or 'Short Barreled Rifle. In CA, SBR=Bad=problems with Johnny Law. There's no getting that tax stamp that make SBR's and other such things OK in other states here in CA.

That said, assuming we're talking about a pistol, check the used forum here. Stuff pops up fairly often. I seem to recall seeing a 10.5" upper just recently. But perhaps it sold already? Check, Aero Precision, Daniel Defense is probably not a lot more. I know those to be great value/$.

What else am I missing for our OP here folks? I know there's one or two more in that price range that merit mentioning. I'm just blanking at the moment because I have dinner cooking and am distracted.

Bear Creek Arsenal has a bunch for right around $50:
https://www.bearcreekarsenal.com/bar...th=291&stock=1
...or full uppers for under $200:
https://www.bearcreekarsenal.com/upp...th=291&stock=1

I've been very happy with their quality.

DSA sells barrels in a similar length too-but sadly both below barrels also OOS.

10.3"

https://www.dsarms.com/p-17065-dsa-a...le-barrel.aspx

Same-but with front sight-

https://www.dsarms.com/p-17064-dsa-a...ght-tower.aspx

But if you want the complete upper-both below in stock.

I've been eyeballing the early MK18 style...

Complete upper minus handle and bcg

https://www.dsarms.com/p-17129-ds-ar...-assembly.aspx

Same as above but early MK18 style

Ballistic Advantage! They have sub moa guarantees with match grade ammo. If you're not going for accuracy and just want to bang, they are still a decent price.

Ballistic Advantage is good to go. I prefer the 11.3/11.5" length over 10.3/10.5" for my pistol, but either length is fine.
Granite Ridge Outfitters has some discount codes too:
https://www.graniteridgeoutfitters.com/556_c57.htm

You might also consider KAK Industry value line barrels for a little less money:

Shouldn't worry too much about him. He doesn't really own any guns , and his posts are typically of a bigoted and racist nature

Purchase a 10.5 complete upper from Aero Precision this past Tuesday. Came out to $280 shipped. They had a flash sale of 15% off all complete uppers. I’d sign up for their email notification because they have these sales often.

Aero precision also owns Ballistic Advantage as many people suggested in this thread

I used one of these on a pistol at one time. Sold the upper to a guy in NV and it's still clicking away.
It's been a few years, and he doesn't tend to baby his gear.
Pick the rest of the parts du jour etc., but don't skimp on the barrel. Prebuilds usually skimp to lower the price. Caveat emptor. Everybody is selling the crap a la lowest bidder low ball pricing.

I've had my PSA 10.5 upper for about a year now, it has a few thousands
through it with no problems

I picked up my 10.5" barrel from Midway a few years back for my KISS carbine and I have no complaints.

I usually run it suppressed and it works fine either way.

Advanced Armament Corp M4-2000. I really like it. For such a small unit it works very well. Standard 5.56 sounds like a .22lr out of a rifle. When I install my .22 sub caliber unit it is pretty much silent except for the sound of the bolt moving back and forth. I heard somewhere they were adopted by one of the services.

Nicoman and sigstroker, I heard it's taking a little over 300 days to get your cans. Thanks to SilencerCo's bogo sale which boosted applications + a 20+ day gubmint shutdown.

Four years ago it took me 8 1/2 months to get my three stamps (AR has two and I did a Krink), so it was 250+ days back then.

I thought about about doing this, but after reading a bunch about it I think it may be a little above my skill. How many baffles, what size blast chamber and what material for the tube and baffles had me

There are lots of working diy designs posted here >~~~€ http://www.silencertalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=79895
I know guys in NV that have done great builds for very low $. Papered and legal.
308,556,22lr, 9mm etc. are very do-.able.
*Recoil booster/Neilsen devices are the only difficulties present for tilting barrel pistols.
No magic required once you get out of the golden shower state.

ohhhh no, ohhhhh boy, lots of unsafe pics here of dangerous fully automatic tools of war death, with high cap clips even. I'm really afraid now....but glad I'm here in safe, sensible, progressive CA. Ahhhhh, yes, now that I've reassured myself of where I am, I feel very, very safe.

A homemade can for centerfire rifles is basically not do-able unless you can find and machine inconel or stellite.

This is fake news. A couple 17-4 h900 blast baffles then grade 5 Ti after that all stuffed in a Ti tube are more than sufficient for high pressure rifle calibers on barrels as short as 7.5" .

No titanium is needed.
4140 seamless tube and machined cones or automotive valve stem guides and fitted spacers work real well. They last a long time.
https://www.superchargedmotorsports....p/12482063.htm
The end pieces need to be fitted and welded on. Threaded for direct connect to the muzzle.
The magic is in turning the diy pieces on a lathe and making sure everything is centered around the bore. I saw 1 fail (baffle strike) and the guts were tossed about 30 yards or so to the front. No harm to the user or bystanders.
Hell I've seen and shot diy F1 cans made from stainless exhaust tubing on a 308 and shorty 556 rifles. AR/LAR types using standard ball ammo.
All NFA, ATFE, KFC, BMW, BFD rules apply.

I like to use Ti due to the 40% weight reduction over steel , and the tubes are threaded 24tpi for adapters and end cap. Bored for concentricity of course. Muffler tubing would be hard to use due to the internal seam and the fact that it's typically not round due to the manufacturing process.
