Thumbs up City of LA pays CRPA $35K in LEGAL FEES

https://www.crpa.org/crpa-news/crpan...tlement-check/

I can't help but wonder if this revelation will have bearing on the case of "Wright v Beck".

Hopefully, now some of the crooked Cops, DAs, and Judges will lose their jobs over this.

Ha. 35K of someone else's money is nothing. As far as LAPD is concerned, everyone involved was doing the right thing to expediently get rid of guns. No one will be disciplined.

Absent a court order following the end of a criminal proceeding, California law requires LAPD to return seized property to its rightful owner. Contrary to that responsibility, however, LAPD officers seek orders from judges to dispose of seized property, sometimes from judges who were not even assigned to the original criminal case, while simultaneously failing to notify the original judge or the owner.
How is that not violating the law? Seems like anyone who did not get their firearms back from the LAPD should sue for lost property damages and a violation of due process...

Angry

I will once again bring to the attention of the CalGuns community. The sad tale of of Mr Wayne Wright.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1100712

LAPD is IMO constantly in the forefront of the race to the bottom. As the most corrupt Police Dept in this nation.

From the CRPA link

Quote:

In fact, the records obtained by CRPA’s lawsuit show that LAPD’s official protocol specifies that such orders are not to be filed with the original judge. Of over 75 such orders identified, only three were marked as “FILED” with a court!
That is exactly what was done to Mr Wright. Crooked Cops, Crooked ADAs, Crooked City Attorneys, Crooked Judges.

It's astounding how brazenly corrupt Los Angeles is. It is coming increasingly indistinguishable from Mexico, pretty soon there will be no point for illegals to jump the border to go to LA since the level of corruption will be about the same.

Correct, same as it always is. Just as LAPD previously paid taxypayers dollars the last time they did this same exact thing. Oakland and Torrance, same, same.

Crooked cops hide behind a protective shield of "Qualified Immunity" provided by their political masters in SacOcrapmento.
