Default Retired California State Firefighter/EMT that escaped to Washington State

Haven't been on Calguns since retiring to Washington State in 2014. Live on Camano Island.
Haven't been on because i wanted to forget how restrictive California is. Was able to get my CPL(CCW in Washington)right away. Good for 5 years and cost me $50. Filled out one form and did fingerprints. Got it in 3 weeks.
But i'm still a native Californian and still love and miss my state, just not the politics.
Still come down and visit quite often so want to get re-educated on what's the latest regarding gun legislation in Cali.

WA is going downhill fast. CA sucks but it seems better than Seattle right now.

Exactly I had a family member that moving to Idaho might be an option. Hell no it's only 10-15 years behind California. I would consider ID, or NV temporarily but for a permanent relocation it would have to take a lot more thought.

In Washington yes. It is approximately $50, shall issue with no training or shooting requirements. It is only fingerprints and a background check.

Open carry doesn’t require a permit. Concealed carry in the mountains does not require a permit. But as OP mentioned it is a shall issue state.

I got my permit as soon as my I got my driver's license
Washington is on the slippery slope but nowhere near as far down as the PRK.

Regardless of East Washington islands, Eastern Washington is still in Washington. Unfortunately, the SeaTac area has more population than the rest of the state, so BS liberal initiatives pass easily. and consequently it suffers under those stupid laws like the rest of the state.
