Default Non-Official Perris BLM Land Clean-Up Site (Sat) April 2nd 2016, 8am

Since a few people want to know when the next clean up is at the Peak, I thought maybe we should do it on our own(NON-Official). Were not getting a dumpster, we need trucks, we hual out what we can get rid of. Hopefully we can get half a dozen of us or so and make our difference, but after we get 4 people with trucks on the list we'll set a day to go. Who knows maybe this won't go anywhere and I'm wasting my time and breath....
Thanks

Update: 1st clean up of this year, date set for April 2nd meet at the entrance at 8am, check in with BLK RFL DIV
Copy and paste and add your name to the list if your interested in the clean up. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...0#post17653960

Update: This morning I got an email with really good news!!! My contact at BLM notified me that we will have a roll off bin on site for us to dump the trash. They will also be supplying some bags and trash pickeruppers (pickuppers must be returned). So now that we have a 40 yard roll off we need to get the word out!

Thanks
C

Since I live very close to Steel Peak I just want to throw this out there... The place may be officially closed but don't expect to find a cold range. I hear people shooting up there every day still

Its cool, I'm sure if our group was to get there early 730-8 its no different than securing a spot. Its just we are cleaning on our spot, and if signs are posted no shooting due to fire restrictions we have that on our side. We can always clean on the otherside of the hill instead of the very front.

damn, I won't be back until October but when I get back I would love to participate and have access to two trucks. I know this doesn't help...

Went out to SP this morning. Got there around 730 or so, place was empty. Went to one of the usual spot I use and did a little non official clean up.

Then after cleaning up I set up 6 steel targets to plink on!! So much nicer after it was clean!

That's what I've heard, but I've been out there twice since memorial day. I haven't seen a sign that say closed due to fire restrictions, just the ones from the march clean up. If I had I would've only been there to clean.

Thanks purer00r for your efforts to help keep SP open. I was thinking about going out this weekend or next to take my pops out target shooting. He got a 22 rifle last year and has yet to shoot it, getting the ammo was a different story, lol. and thanks for letting us know its still open.

I would like to help out in one of these clean up crews but I got a couple of questions :

1- When does this clean up usually fall onto the week ?
2- And since I got a POS Neon, will it be able to get into SP for the clean up ?

1) Haven't set a day probably be a weekend, unless the crew can do a weekday. I'm waiting to get 4 trucks or so then set a day. I'm open for any day, I'm working around the majority of your guys schedule.
2) depending on what spot we clean you could park at the entrance, but if we clean just over the hill you should be able to get your car there. You probably won't be able to go passed the 2nd hill.

This is the 1st one I've tried to get together. But ya I'd like to have these every couple of months or so, get to know some of the CGs and help keep the place clean.

Only days off are sometimes monday and tuesday. And I do mean SOMETIMES....

Working at a rehad right now, so schedules change everyday.

But yeah I'm down to help clean up and see what's up with this place.
I have been to some places near Hemet and oh god, was it littered. Didn't expect to fill up as much trash as ammo and targets in my car.

I like to go on weekdays, Mon or Tues is perfect for me! If your serious, we can do a weekday then me and the list can do the weekend clean up after.

So we went out yesterday with our friend and her kids. Wasn't SP, but we were able to pick up some trash and this spot. All I could haul out was 5 bags(that's all I can fit in my trash at home). I'm hoping we can set a day for SP right after the 4th. So please chime in to if July 12th sounds good!!!

Here's what I could get out yesterday, this is all I could expect any of us on the SP clean up to take out. If more great!!! Hope to hear from you guys soon, have a great weekend!!

Hi purer00r!

Got your texts about this...

If I might make a suggestion, the 3rd Saturday of the month is free dump day at many Riverside county dumps. Agua Mansa for sure!

That might be a better day to do the cleanup?

Either way you know I'm up for it! I'll bring two trash cans, bags, rakes, grain shovel, and my magnet pick up tool for those pesky Russian cases!
