So, will these be immediately available, or will there be a wait as K-USA ramps up production?

Approx 1200.00 on the Kalashnikov USA KR 9 Rifle and the same price for the KP 9 base pistol.

Dang, toiletfighter! I thought you were posting you got one already!

I have the feeling K-USA will have plenty of these in a few month and I can wait for the prices to settle down a bit. I still feel the sting of being one of the first AK-V owners (mine is being sent back) and I should be early in line for the Volk's V-9.

I wish! The mags are a tease. Hopefully my FFL will have it sometime next week and I can start paperwork next weekend.

Definitely agree on being able to wait on this without missing out in owning one. If they sell well and turn out to be a solid, reliable gun, they’ll make a ton. Price will go down as well. Whats the V-9 ETA?

Curtis was saying mid March, but I'm not holding my breath. Plenty of new stuff to chew through.

I'm afraid his new projects might delay the V9. We'll see.

One guy already got his and put 500rds through it and says it eats everything. Looks like a winner so far.

The price is darn close to the SIG MPX, which is a lot for a straight blowback made in Russia. I would think it needs to be a couple three hundred bucks cheaper at least.

I'm gonna eat my own words, LOL. Impact Guns had 7 in stock today and I had to sweep in.

The hard part is I'm going to be out of town for a while and won't see it for a few weeks If I were home, I'd get it Form 1'ed faster than Ocasio Cortez can spend your tax money.

Not my rifle, but pretty much like this. I’ll snap a few pics when I pick it up Saturday.

Folder is made non operable, add a fin to the grip and that’s it. Muzzle device is a brake, so it’s GTG.

Interesting. I’m planning on picking my carbine up tomorrow and shooting it Sunday.

I also saw this on AKOU the other day...

^^^ My plan is to put 500rds of 124gr MEN and Winchester NATO through it first thing. If the rifle has any issues, hopefully they’ll show themselves early.

Will do. I have the DA AKX-9 as well, so I’ll get to do a side by side comparison.

Not from 2A, I’m up north NE of Sacramento.

Will the handguard interchange with a regular AK one? How about the pistol grip?

Handguard, no. Pistol grip, yes. I just spent some time trying to swap furniture on mine. I tried a few polymer, a couple wood 74 handguards and a ZenitCo B10m, none do.

You’d have to do some extensive fitting to swap the lower handguard out with any standard AKM/74 type handguard. The Vityaz has a a different trunnion than an AKM or 74, leaving a shallower pocket to insert the HG into the receiver.

Top pic is the rear of a KUSA KR-9 HG. Notice the profile of the rear end where it fits into the receiver. Shallower by at least 1/4”. Second pic is of a ZenitCo B21m for the Vityaz, last is for a ZenitCo B10m that is for stamped AKM/74 type rifles. Gives you an idea of the difference.

Attachment 788295

Attachment 788296

Attachment 788297

I plan on ordering one of the ZenitCo handguards, or maybe save my pennies for a real Russian railed AK9 set.

Picked up my KR-9 that I bought via audiophil on Saturday. I plan on getting out Friday to put it through its paces.

Several more people reporting cracked dust covers in a thread on AKFiles, but only on pistols from what I’ve seen. Also, the firing pin retaining pin has apparently walked out of the BCG on a few guns, like in the video above.

Fingers crossed.

K-USA KP-9 on the top
Palmetto's AK-V on the bottom

Curious intersecting paths at the LGS today. The AK-V is going back to PSA for it's needed "updates" and the KP-9 is going to a well known vendor here for a secret project.

The KP-9 feels smoother. Couldn't compare the weight as one had an SBA brace and adapter, the other didn't.
