Default Non DOJ Roster CCW?

Question.
Might a non roster gun still be a viable choice for CCW.
Can a legally bought G43 be used for concealed carry in California?

Depends on your issuing agency, mine, San Bernardino allows it as long as it’s registered to you or spouse and in correct caliber, if it was a SSE in another caliber it will have to be changed. I have 2 off roster guns on my permit.

Call your IA and ask.

Looks like it’s good to go from a search, you can also look through Ventura county ccw thread

Stanislaus County is good to go. 2 of my 3 are off roster.

I am sure there are counties that do not allow off roster guns to be added, but off the top of my head, I cannot think of any.

Does anyone know of any counties that do NOT allot off roster guns on a CCW?

Yes, Ventura County allows legally registered (in your name) non roster pistols.

There was a short time when they placed a moratorium on them but that no longer is the case.

If the agency doesn't allow off-roster registered guns to be on the ccw, then eventually there'll be no gun available to be on the permit. Cali handgun roster keeps dropping like crazy.

Yes. San Bernardino allowed me to add an off roster to my CCW, no questions asked.

OCSD has no issue with off-roster guns. The guns are still legal and registered to the ccw holder, then why not? Off roster guns are mainly to prohibit purchase from dealers.

There's the legality of it, which, as others have posted, is perfectly fine, and the practicalities of it. If your G43 is the best-fitting, best-shooting, etc. gun for you, or that's the only one you have, I think that's all good.

When I was selecting my CCW guns, however, I also thought of the availability of immediate replacements if something were to happen to it. You'd pay a pretty high premium if you needed to get another one, and I'd always feel uneasy training with a gun I knew was relatively rare, even if only for legal reasons, and subjecting it to stress and wear and tear. I realize it limits the choices considerably, but I chose one that is near assured to be on the roster for the long term (Smith and Wesson J Frame).

I also added a Springfield Professional to my list, but that's a discussion for another day.

Gavin Newsom is a lying, cheating slickster and will be is the worst mistake California has ever made if he gets now that he has been elected Governor. Hollywood movie producers look to him and his oleaginous persona as a model for the corrupt "bad guy" politician character. This guy is so greasy, he could lubricate an entire arsenal of AR-15s just by breathing on them.

Here in Humboldt County, 2 of my 3 CCW listed weapons are off roster. No Glocks, and No Problemo!
