Cuyama two matches this weekend
TriCounty gun club will have a 600 yard match on Saturday morning and a Palma match (800, 900 & 1,000 yards) on Sunday. Squadding (shooting order) at 08:00 both mornings.
The range is located on Hwy 33 just east of Cuyama, 3 miles south of the Hwy 166 intersection. On the east side of the road across from Foothill Road. Look for a shade structure and a bunch of vehicles 1/4 mile up the dirt road. The range flags will be up so it will be easy to see. (Right at the Ventura / Santa Barbara county line sign.) The Saturday match will consist of two relays of 20 rounds at 600 yards. You shoot your relay, then work the pits marking the other relay's shooters targets and then repeat. (Sometimes they shoot a third 20 round relay but it's optional, shoot if you want to) Sunday's match will be 15 rounds at 800, 900 and 1,000 yards (45 rounds plus sighters) You'll need: * Ear and eye protection * 40 (or 45 on Sunday) rounds of ammo plus another 2 - 5 rounds for sighters before each relay * A finger adjustable scope with enough adjustment to reach 1,000 yards (~48 MOA for 308 shooters) Just 600 yards on Saturday. * A good 100 yard zero (we'll get you on paper with your sighters) * Bipod or front rest (and optional rear rest) * A shooting mat * A good attitude If anyone wants to come out and watch, you are more than welcome. I'm going to try to make the Saturday match and I'll stay over to shoot my 375 H&H for practice because I'm going back to Africa. You can dry camp overnight on Saturday night if you like and shoot both matches, others will be there doing it.
