Yeah that is a little weird. I mailed my packet off on 2/5/21 and got it back 2/17/21. Hopefully you get yours real soon.

Its great to know things are running smoothly in AZ. I let my renewal lapse beyond the 60 days and now I have to submit a new packet. Lesson learned.

Does AZ mail you something for renewal or do we have to go online to reapply?

I thought I read in this thread somewhere that they send you the renewal form but can’t seem to locate that info.

Haha I guess that makes sense. I'm so used to California moving slow. Granted, I did get my permit pretty quick after it being approved, it's just getting the interview that took the longest. 6 month wait! Looks like it's down to 3 now in my county.

Love AZ's process. They are super efficient even during the pandemic.

I got mine in a month tops and that was including a mistake on my end for not including a document.

My wife and I sent our applications in the same envelope in the middle of May.

She got her permit last Monday, and my application is stuck in background check.

I guess everyone's processes differently

Wife and I applied for our CA permits simultaneously. Ironically, hers took longer because of her law enforcement background.

Default Application Question

Anyone have any issues with the "County" box on the application? Not sure if I should mark "other", leave blank or enter my CA County. I would hate to get it kicked back for that and lose time having to resend it in

On the website it will refer that it's currently taking 75 "working days" for new permit applications. Mine was just a tad under that. I sent in my package on May 8th and just received mine last week. I guess some are faster and some are not but getting it in a week or two? that's pretty lucky considering.

Well now I'm like WTF lol. I'm at day 45 today. Guess we'll see if it comes. I haven't called because I know they are busy, but maybe I will on Tuesday if it doesn't come this evening.

EDIT: I'm actually at 38. Was giving myself an extra week. DOH. But you still got me beat which I don't understand lol.

6/29/2021 - called for status, rep said still processing the backlog. My app didnít clear the auto background check (nothing wrong, they just have to manually process the background check for some apps). She said would try to clear background check now on the phone. Placed me on hold and came back about 2 minutes later. She said background is now cleared and permit should be received within 2 weeks

They are too nice to be working for any government agency, lol.
MVD (dmv in AZ) is just as good, at least where we live. Walked in, no appt, registered 5 vehicles in 10 minutes.

My new application took almost the projected 75 working days that they have listed on their website. It is interesting how some people report getting theirs in a couple of weeks.

I guess some of us are more interesting to the FBI ....I submitted my package back on 3-10 and I just recently (3 weeks) ago received mine.

I found out from my local home based FFL that because of an earlier investigation done by the FBI on both myself and my wife because of our Son's employment it will impact what they look at and how deep they check things out.

Made sense since it was fairly recently, maybe 2 years ago?. He also said people that work for companies like Raytheon etc. have this same issue.

He also mentioned that it always results in a 20 minute background check when purchasing a weapon. Another good reason to have an Arizona CCW since you don't need to do that while you have a valid permit.

Don’t you have to be a resident of AZ to purchase a firearm in AZ?

Not necessarily. Long guns can be sold to residents of certain other states. Also many people have dual residency in CA and AZ.

How do you think off rosters get in to CA except through CA cops abusing their privileges?

Although doing so with off roster handguns is a felony with dual residency as a CA resident bringing them in.

Good afternoon. New to this threat. I just submit my application for the ccw from California. The only question I have for the training.

Since I have CCW for Los Angeles. Do I still have to take Arizona courses? Or I can just sent the application with a copy of mine California CCW?

Im having a mix answer regarding to this issue that why

Thank you.
