Default Mosin Nagant hex 91/30 price?

Got an ad from my lgs that they’re selling mosins for $260. No other info such as who made it, year, etc. What’s a fair price for them these days? Can’t beat the sub-$100 days..

meh its ok..if it was in great shape- shiny and sharp rifling I would say maybe. There is still a ton of these rifles sitting in closest that are in dam near brand new factory refurb shape. If you wanted to wait around and keep an eye on sales in forums you could get a nice one, well as nice as a 91/30 will be.

Personally I would rather save more money for a Finn 91/30. Say $500-$600

Btw..this is the wrong forum. You woudl want C& R ..Im banned for some reason in there for well over a year or two now and no one will tell me why. Probably hurt someones fweeelings .

I wouldn’t part with any of my hex Mosins for that price - I’d suggest getting one (or more) since they aren’t making them anymore

$250-$300 seems about the going rate. Anything higher and they don't sell. I've seen the same 91/30 at my LGS sitting on the rack for almost 2 years, still priced at $399. They made millions and millions of these rifles. They aren't being made anymore, but they also aren't in high demand.
If you are not familiar with the below sites, I encourage you to check them out and use them for cash back and great deals on ammo from Cabela's and such. Check the deals forum here on calguns and you will see a lot of us using these now. If you are kind enough to sign up through my below referral links, we both get instant bonus rewards. Thanks!

That would be a good price for a hex receiver, but only a fair price for a round receiver. Functionally they are the same, it's just that a hex has slightly higher collector value, and supposedly slightly cleaner mfg marks because it was made in peacetime.

I share Broker's sentiment in that if I were to get only 1 Mosin just to say I have one, it would be a Finnish M39, or a shorter carbine like the M38/M44/Type 53.

edit: and why is this in Rimfire subsection?
