Patiently waiting for Kes to give us all another update but I know he is taking care of his family stuff right now so he has more important matters on his hands right now, still good to see many of us are still actively using the forum even with the slowdowns .

I did a tracert on my Windows computer and the route timed out at 99.82.176.54 which is identified as an Amazon server located in Virginia. Could this be the bottleneck?

My favorite site especially as a CA Gun Prisoner...

If there was a way to contribute to the server move cost...and that it would actually help the move issue?

It sucks an update would be great patience is thinning...

I ain't going anywhere; well that is unless I get squished by that mighty "ban hammer", then I slither away and seek one of those 'safe spaces' I've heard about.

Hang in there.

I am not sure if the funds that one donates when we become CGN/CGSSA contributors are going partially towards that right now?

CalGuns is slow on my computer still. I am a bit afraid to use it on my phone and iPad as sometimes they are not able to download all of the posts.

It's now February and it's even slower than before.

Waiting for all the geezers to chime in again and tell us how ungrateful we all are and remind us about when they were kids trudging uphill both ways to school in the snow and how slow the internet was back then and we just don't know how lucky we are these days.

Nearly unusable. Takes more time to load a page than read the whole thread.

Its better when there is less traffic.

Still super slow during peak usage.

Tere should be a hange, to the thread title, to reflect February.

I find the month-long silence from the admin very interesting. Admin posting notice of the migration in Off Topic and not this (Account Issues, Outage Reports and Technical problems) sub forum was also interesting.

Default Fix the server please

The Calguns network is experiencing a lagging issue. Possibly due to over allowing advertisements.

My work around has been to open new tabs anytime I click on a forum post. I will click on 3 to 4 after scrolling through the page, then I click on the next page and switch to the tabs as the next page loads. Best I can offer.

Thumbs down It's not due to advertisements...

...the issue is those that use the hell out of the Marketplace here and are TOO CHEAP to spend $25 per year to support the board.

User name definitely fits.

Moving a site isn't that big of a deal. This is 2023 after all. The site has been floundering for months, the owner has ghosted the loyal followers, showing no interest in fixing the problem. There is no solution in sight.

The logical solution would be to just hand over the reins to Verticalscope. Running forums is what they do. Have egos and the quest for the almighty dollar gotten in the way of a smooth running forum? I suspect that some enthusiast will just build another site and people will slowly move over there.

The problem with this is that I bet a large majority of the users on this site won't ever move.

I used to be on a specific car forum almost every day in my younger years. Overtime, the site started becoming crowded with advertisement banners (not saying that is the issue here, to be frank I have more issues with large signatures people have). As the website became more and more difficult to navigate, a prominent enthusiast in the community decided to make his own website. But in turn what happened was both websites failed as it split the already niche community even smaller.

I really hope that does not happen here. I'm definitely a "younger" member here, in the sense of being a supporter of the passion and not actual age. But I have met some really superb people through this forum. However I no longer come here to learn as the slow speeds have been frustrating more often than not.

Just my 2 cents.
