It can pay huge dividends to examine why a pistol doesn't function properly and sometimes it's systemic, many of the same model have the same issue but it's easily remedied after which the pistol is as reliable as any other.

For certain pistols, how me the owner who says it's a POS only because the Internet said so and I'll show you a bargain that with little more than minor effort is the deal people ask "where did you find that?"

Many guns that are labeled as a "POS" or "Junk" aren't really that, it's the owner who says something like "if it doesn't work with X then it's junk".

The number of pistols called junk for no reason other than a burr on the slide or something not much more is amazing.

Agreed. Knowing/learning how the machine works and it's particular sequence of movements required to function properly is key.

I have gotten many cheap deals from owners of "problem guns" over the years. Many only required a proper clean/lube, good magazine and decent ammo. Broken roll pins or firing pins, spring swaps etc. Easy peasy for the most part.

That may be the case with some Firearms, they had neglect or abuse by the previous owner..But most of those cases are on good Firearms of known reliability out of the starting gate. You knew with some luvin they could be returned to their former glory...The SIG does not have a known out of the gate reliability, nor has it ever been of known quality..The SIGs are just well documented as original made lemons..

I myself have saved many good quality Remingtons, Marlins, and such after neglect..But they were salvageable,and of known original build quality.. Big difference between neglected Firearms, and ones made as junk from the start..Buy a Jennings, Hi Point, and so on, and you get what you paid for..Nothing will save them...LOL

Another vote for CCI Mini mags.
I believe the manual actually mentions them. I have had the Mosquito for years. The ergonomics are great for me. It's like a 7/8 scale P228 or P226. It's not a bad looking gun in two-tone, the trigger is flat out lousy and the ammo....well...Mini mags just work well in them like they do in any other .22LR I have. The only other ammo I have used is Remington golden turds and I probably get a failure every 10 or 20 rounds.
