Yep. Its a shame people have to destroy things that benefit the very reason you are there and to warn people that there are people target shooting.

I'm going to have to plead ignorance on this Full Clip as I don't know what you are referring to. I have an armored steel 14" round disk on a non armored 5' pole that I'm bringing, but no fire bell.

Also, do you know the name/phone number of the Ranger station that handles that area by any chance. I want to ask about the bowling pin issue I mentioned to you.

It's probably the same deuchebags that still shoot when people are downrange. They need to be jailed and flogged.

But in all seriousness, probably some .45 ACP shot shells.
.45acp shotshells work great in a wheel gun. In my experience, shotshells in any semi auto pistol do not cycle properly if at all. Personally, I'd rather know that my gun is going to cycle. So, now I only use revolvers when carrying shotshells in a sidearm.

I'll be at disgusting Camp Roberts for annual training until the 24th or I'd totally be there.

Can we offer to replace these signs that were obviously shot up by someone who doesn't give a sh** that by shooting these signs (supplied by the BLM I presume) they make all of us look like idiots? I have contacts who make these kinds of signs. Just don't know what kind of red tape is involved in getting permission.

If this happens on the weekend of the 17th then i'm going. I will stay over night. I have my toyhauler which sleeps 6 and room for an air mattress and my 4 seat Rhino for target runs. I can also fit 6 in my truck if anyone wants to carpool. I will fill my fresh water tanks for anyone who needs to pee sitting down. Also have an awning and an extra ez up. Pretty much i have everything and everyone can use it. Let me know on a confirmed date.

P.S. I have A/C in the trailer!!!

I've put a magazine of them through my 1911 and had no issue. I suspect higher end 1911s with tighter fit and heavier springs might not fair as well.

Question, is there going to be a rendezvous for the newbies at the Del Taco this trip? If so, it might be a good idea to set a early meetup time to bring the newbies to the spot. I'd hate for anyone to get lost.

Rekrab, you bringing your RIA? I wanted to get one awhile ago but went for the 92.

Its a 170 miles one way for me, coming from the San diego area. Anyone in north county wanna carpool? I have a truck big enough to fit 5-6 and haul gear. Or I can pitch in gas money and ride with you. I'm free the 17th and the 18th so I can stay the night. I have a trailer (not a camper) to haul wood out, a bunch of wood.

Sure! I'd probably bring it along anyways, but I'm more than happy to let you put a few rounds through it to spread the RIA love.

This sounds like fun, count me in. I have some AR500 round plates I got from a group buy here, I just need to make some sort of stand or saw horse rig for them.

Here is what happened to my plans in the last day or so: The rental fell thru. The guy finally called me and told me contrary to what the lady said, he only rents by the week. Commercial RV renters have a 3 day minimum.

My son and his girlfriend can't make it and something else that looked good didn't pan out unfortunately.

So, unless a small miracle occurs, this will be a day trip only for me. Sorry Lyte- and Jacob.

Just a fyi for anyone spending the night and thinking about a campfire, you don't want to leave any evidence of one since the place should be left clean. If you have access to an old washing machine, you can remove the drum, cut off the agitator from the bottom and use it as a fire pit.

If you dig a hole in the ground deep enough and put the drum on cinderblocks, the ash will go thru the hole of the drum, into the hole in the ground and you can cover it up. No blackened burned area and no evidence of a fire.

We did this in Nv. and it looked like we never had a fire.

I love that area....camped a couple of miles farther in on Memorial day weekend....hey, heres a question....on a couple of trails I was driving in on as I got further in..there were spraypainted no camping/no tresspassing on some of the rockfaces lining the road going into some of the canyons...Can I assume that there is no private entities in there that have "property rights"

Well, we are just a few weeks away from our zombie shoot and I would like to post some directions and tips.

The rendezvous point.

Sounds like a plan. I'm still looking for some more people to carpool with me to the location. I have 1 person already but would like more to split the cost of gas. I am coming from the San Diego area (North county, Escondido) if anyone wants to join me. I have room for 3-4 more people. I am open to staying the night, but it has to be a general agreement with the rest of the group in my vehicle. I can bring a small trailer for larger items (big ez-ups, tables, firewood).

Is this place accessible with a regular car?
Read post #152 and look at the paragraph between the two satellite pics of the place. mrlonewolf has pointed out specifics as to cars, trucks and the road.

I will be driving my truck, so if one person wants to carpool with me and help on the gas costs, please let me know. I'm not staying the night tho. I live in French Valley, which is across from Murrieta and near Temecula. All the guns and ammo will be in the rear seat, so I can only take one person.

Yes, a regular car can make it if you drive carefully. Just not the last 50' to the firing line. My Mustang convert made it no prob. One guy even drove a Porche! LOL
