I drove out there in my Mustang once. No prob. Just watch for large rocks on the road, which is otherwise pretty good (dirt/gravel).

1. Water. Water and more water. I also like G2. You'll need several gallons per person to stay properly hydrated. And if you don't pee at least once during the day, you're not drinking enough.

2. Sunscreen. 70+ SPF (and don't apply any above your eyes).

3. A good hat, proper clothing and good footware. (Note that the Bedouins do not wear shorts and wifebeaters.) I wear a wide-brimmed hat, BDUs, long sleeves and boots. The terrain out there is perfect for rolling an ankle, and we should be watching for snakes as well...

Getting there is much easier on the car than getting to Greg's place

I go out to that spot all the time. Ive been wanting to go with you guys on the previous shoots that were posted but stuff came up.

The weekend of the 17th im moving into a new apartment with my fiance'.

The 24th is better for me if that day gets picked. If so im in!

It will be hot (last weekend was 102 out there)

I know, I know, most likely is going to be hot but, we've done this before.

Early start, easy ups and lots of ice cold water are the way to go, so.

What say you.
It will be my first with you guys if I can fit it into my schedule. Hope I can!

Can't make this one boys (and Lyte), so y'all have fun.
Just a fyi; the one at Ace is an angled leg canopy. The 10x10 measurement is at the top, so the shade area is actually about 64sq feet. To get a true 100sq foot shade area, you need to get the straight leg canopy.

I don't know if that makes a difference to anyone looking for one; I just thought I'd throw that out there.

As far as the trip, either day works fine for me. I can only do the day trip tho. My sleeping in a tent with a sleeping bag days are long gone with my messed up back and an RV is about $300 for a weekend.

I have an armored steel target and lots of bowling pins.

I already have a call into a place in Hesperia. They only rent motor homes, but the lady has a friend who has a 26' trailer and she will call back tomorrow.

The thing is with rentals from companies is they don't do one dayers; the minimum is a 3 day rental. I had a motorhome for 10yrs. and had it at a rental place for awhile to make some income for us. They and all companies I have called have a minimum 3 day rental.

Ideally, I would rent from a place close to Barstow, for a number of reasons:

1. I don't have to tow it from my place over the Cajon Pass and get 6mpg.

2. I don't have to tow it from my place over the Cajon Pass at 30mph.

That's enough.

I'll post when I get the info, plus I'll try some more places. Some of the ones I called only rent motorhomes and not only are they more expensive to rent, I'm not leaving my truck overnight in their parking lot.

My Dad has a 30' RV, gets about 8 MPG. Its a 1989, nicer then you would think though I am sure. I can ask him, if people would be willing to pitch in. I am sure we can sleep 10 people in it! Sleeps six comfortable, but there is floor space! I will ask and see what he says. How far is it? Hell, even if everyone slept in tents around it, we would have some type of security. Getting him to let me drive it though may be the issue, as I am not too sure he will want to spend the night with a bunch of dirty calgunners.

Hey Andrew, like I said, I had one MH for 10yrs. and my first one for 1 year, so I know how to drive one (Class A 32'). Do you think he would let me drive it and that way you could stay home.
