This might be a bit off topic, but do you guys know if all national forests in Socal have the same level 1-5 restrictions? i'm just trying to find out if i can shoot in my local national forest lands, thanks.

Bee Canyon is in San Bernardino nat forest, I googled "USFS San Bernardino, shooting" before and came up with the USFS pages that covered shooting locations and rules and it has the 1-5 restrictions listed.

Try that for your area or call a ranger station that would issue a wood cutting permit, those restrictions also apply to chainsaws.

Anyone every had their firearms 'inspected' by rangers? Especially featureless rifles with big evil mags?

We had a run in with a ranger once (ATV related) and he was very nice.

Also what's the latest on it being open or closed? Would think it'd be pretty moist up there the next couple weeks.

The Canyons are OPEN

The roads are in Great shape. With that little rain , the dry ground just sucked it up. nice not to be dusty up there

I'm guessing recent dryness and santa ana winds have closed the canyon to shooting for the time being. Over.

Default conditions?

FS website says shooting is open. Logic says otherwise. My brother in law lacks logical reasoning skills and intends on going tomorrow...What's the actual?

Today, the activity level is 3 which means that shooting is allowed only until 1pm.

Went out today with 8 members of my family. Had a great time. Sadly there was lots of trash in the canyons. We pulled out a tv and a bunch of trash. All in all a good time.

Was out at the canyon today to test some new builds - spent more time picking up trash and hauling it out than shooting

people please if you bring it in - take it out
it only takes a little time and effort if everyone does there part.

Unfortunately, your msg. to clean won't be seen by the people who make the mess, since you are preaching to the choir. The Calgunners who go to Bee Canyon know the FS can close this down at anytime due to the trash, so they pick up. It's the inconsiderate AHs who are the problem children, so the burden falls on all of us and like minded shooters to clean it.

Thank you for your efforts.
