National forest is open to OHV, just not for target shooting. Ranger station is supposedly closed due to the government shut down, but last weekend i saw the most amount of cars there that i have ever seen before.

I called this morning as im itchy to fire my new 5.56 build...they said its going to be closed until at least november. Conditions today are still high fire chance appearantly. as soon as I find out when theyre open ill post it...as im sure everyone else will...of course...after I arrive to fire...lol.

Yep, we would need a lot out of one storm......more like 4 to 6 inches total out of a couple storms to raise the fuel moisture enough.

Its been raining on and off all night and into today here in Murrieta. How's it doing over near bee canyon?? Are the canyons going to need a cleanup before opening?

I was hoping that also

I called the Ranger station and the counter guy said a decision won't be made till after the first of the month !!

To see how much total rain we get and how much is absorbed into the fuel on the hillsides

( Guy said they have been getting calles ALL day about the canyon )

According to the San Barnardino Forest Service, the fire restriction is Moderate for the first time. That's a good news

All California fire agencies maintain that the fuel moistutes are still dangerously high. I'll actually be surprised if they throw us a bone anytime soon.

Uhhh I hope you guys are right about that, but I heard a blurb about it on KABC last week. Haven't been on CG in a month so didn't see the thread.

It might be that its going again. With Obama and his administration cronies, nothing is ever two years old. They rarely give up on a "good idea" to screw us around. I'll see if I can find anything.
