SSZS official invitation, November 4-6th, 2022.
Mega zombie hunt, Nov. 4-6, 2022
The biggest CGN and multi-chapter gathering shoot in our state...!!!!! Overnight stay for the weekend, lots of guns, tons of ammo, belt feds, steel, paper, biodegradable and organic targets, C&R night shoot extravaganza, abundant food, camp fires at night, zombie movies, etc. * 100 % Family friendly and oriented event. * Weekend campers welcome to set up your stations as early as Friday the 5th (at the first zombie shoot we kept the range open for 72 straight hours). * ORVs welcome (check your tag color). * Big Potluck and BBQ on Sat. for lunch, let's get together and make new friends and/or put a face to that screen name. * RAWs, Beltfeds, .50s and Big bores, welcome. * Insane C&R Sat. evening extravaganza, (do you have a vintage gun?? do you like muzzle flash? do you have a good camera?....bring em, you are going to love it). What is OK to bring: * EZ ups and Canopies, chairs, tables, ice chests, lots of water, drinks and ice, camping equipment, hats, sun screen.etc. * Food for the Potluck ***we are going to need at least two propane BBQs.*** * Paper, biodegradable, organic and steel targets are OK. * Bikes, Quads and all types of ATVs are welcome (please check you tag color). * Generators and flood lights. * Fire wood for the campfires, more food, drinks and popcorn for the zombie movie. * Trash bags, rakes and containers to clean up the place after your shooting session. Please let's be prepared to leave the shooting location clean and ready to be enjoyed by us and others in the near future. If you finish your shooting session please remove your targets and any material related to your shooting practice (trash, ammo boxes, spent cases,etc). If you would like to "donate" your targets to a shooter next to you, the people receiving those targets will be responsible to remove them and clean the spot after the shoot. Remember, preservation of our land is a must...!!!!!! What is NOT OK to bring: * Plastic, glass or any kind of electronic equipment to be used as targets. * Wood with nails, screws or any kind of metal objects intended for the campfires. * Tannerite or any kind of explosive targets. * No Drugs of any kind are allowed nor will be tolerated in our event. * No Alcohol is permitted during our shooting sessions and BBQs, any kind of Alcoholic beverages must be kept at the camp ground and/or inside your vehicles at all times. This rule will be strictly enforced. Useful tips and tricks * If you're bringing a tent/canopy/shade/whatever, bring plenty of weights to hold it down as there are strong winds around noon to 3 PM every day. Last year several blew down range as well as a table or two blew over with guns going everywhere. * Organize items list for those going to the store or coming up in the middle of the day or different days. The Secret Location.
♪ ♪♪♪ ♫♫♫♫ ( Dramatic music). From Barstow: Take I 15 fwy. North, go 8.0 miles; get off at Fort Irwin Rd (exit 189) and make a left turn at the stop sign.  Take Fort Irwin Rd. and head North exactly 8.1 miles; as soon as you pass Old Irwin rd. stay alert, 800 yds. ahead you’ll see a BLM map/marker on your right hand side and a dirt road entrance.   Congratulations, you are about to enter zombie’s territory. Take the dirt road and go east about 1.9 miles, at that point you’ll go trough” Crazy Coyote Canyon “(Huh.??, IDK what it is but, it sounds kind of cool….LOL). Right after you exit the canyon the road splits, you want to stay and turn always to your left, if you keep driving straight ahead you’ll end up in Calico and believe me you don’t want to go there, as you know Calico is a ghost town and it’s the preferred hang out for the Miners Zombie Federation, local 666 (at least that’s what I been told). So you made your first left turn and you’re still on the “main road”, go another 500 yds or so and you’ll find another small road, make your second left turn right there. Ok, good job, you are almost there, follow the small road for another 800 yds, remember always keep your eyes on your left side, at one point you’ll see the “plateau access ramp”, the ramp has a few white gravel spots (perhaps done by off-roaders) and this is the only indication that you’ll see.  For the members driving low profile vehicles, RVs, trailers, etc., this is a far as you can go and a desirable place for camping/parking, the last uphill 50’ are kind of demanding for your cars. If you are driving a truck then the ramp will be a piece of cake. Once at the plateau we’ll park our trucks, set up camp (easy-ups, tables, chairs, etc.) and form the firing line as usual. Coordinates N 34.991 deg W 116.892 deg.[

Is there a hookup on the company that drops trailers out there for you? I’ve gotten rid of my fifth wheel in this past year. Seems well worth it not to have to drag one out for just a couple days.

THORDSEN CUSTOMS WILL BE BACK AT THE SSZS FAMILY EVENT THIS YEAR!! It's been three years since I've been able to attend due to health issues but I'm all better now... Mostly  Stop by to say hi. Check out some of our toys and grab a sticker or two!! GONG CHALLENGE SATURDAY!! From 10am to 4 pm we will have a 3" gong set up at 250 yards. Hit the gong within three tries a win a GEN III carbine stock kit. I look forward to seeing some old friends and making some new ones!! Thordo

We will be there. While I'm not a veterinarian, I do work at a vet ER. So if anyone's pets are starting to have any issues, I would be happy to assess, since I know we take down names and numbers for medics and such.
