NNPC MonthlyFun Match at BurroCanyon 10/9/2021

Our monthly match will be this Saturday, 9 OCT 2021, at Burro Canyon. This will be our annual OK Corral match where we recreate the most infamous gunfight of the old west. I want to try something a little different this year, so in addition to your single action revolvers, bring modern gear. The idea is to shoot each stage twice, once with the period guns, then with more modern kit. The comparison should be interesting. We will also have our customary cowboy themed three gun stage.

9 AM. Check in with us (not the office) at Range 1C across the road from the office. We have the range all day so you are welcome to stay and shoot afterwards. Cost is $35 to cover range rental, targets and pasters. If everyone helps out scoring and pasting targets, the match goes much more quickly.

With rain, we may be able to shoot some steel! We will see how wet it is up there and what the range says.

We only had 5 shooters, so things went quickly and smoothly. It takes 4 shooters to pay the minimum charge for the range so that was fine. After the 4 minimum, each shooter is an additional $30. (We charge $35, an extra $5, to cover targets, target stands and poles (which do get shot up,) pasters, bowling pins, knockdowns, etc.

It was not wet enough to shoot steel, but we hope to next month - which will be a rimfire match. All stages can be shot with either rimfire rifle or pistol. Even if the rimfire does not knock over the plate, you can hear the hit. So let's hope we get some more rain before Nov 13.
