Why do you guys take appointments when it is not honored?
Had a appt. for 12pm on a day for firearm pickup. Arrived and signed in at 1130am. The sign-in says appointments take precedence over walk-in/waitlist. 11:50am, an employee asks who is next. Me and another both have appointments at 12, I tell the staff he was here first, and I wait. 11:52am, another employee asks who is next on waitlist. A person says he is on wait list, but appointment is at 230pm, and after hearing this, I let the staff know I have an appointment at 12pm. The staff says they are doing waitlists first, and I will have to wait on the next staff. WTF. Stop the bull**** covid appointments if yall aint going to honor your waitlist/appt system, and blatantly tell a paid customer, his appt. don't mean ****. |

His reply was they are trying to get through all the walk-ins first.
The person they saw was a walk-in with a appt, same as I was, except they have a freaking sign that says appt. takes precedence, and my appt was before the 230 customer. I have no general issue with riflegear except they should either honor their "words" on appt vs. walk-in waitlist, or get rid of that system. Made me waste time to make a pick up appt., and keep my appt. Had I known I could of just walked-in and get seen sooner than appt. people, I would of. |

When u say "walk in with an apt", can u clarify? Walk in and apts are two separate things there. Because u are saying they and u both were walk ins (on the wait list) and yet had apts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So you all had appointments and all arrived early so they did FCFS if I'm reading this correct. Your 12 app was before the others 2:30 but if it's only 11:52 looks like still they honored FCFS. Would be a different story if it's 12 or after and this happened. When did you get service then?

Think he walked in earlier than his appointment and jumped in the waitlist and they dealt with them FCFS.

Yea, all (guy before me, the 230 guy, and me) was waitlisted and we all had appts.
One staff asked who had 12pm appts at 1150am, me and other guy said we do, and they asked who was here first, so I pass to him. Then another staff who was standing next to the prev. staff asked for "next in line," 230 guy said he was on waitlist but also had appt. at 230pm. I let the staff know I am also waitlisted and 12pm appt. He never called out the waitlist by names, so no one knows "next-in-line." I asked about my 12pm appt., then he says he is trying to clear out the waitlist first, even if they have few signs posted that basically says "Appt.>Waitlist" |

When they do walk in wait list, they send a text that u are up. And it's first come fist serve. They don't call names. Even if u are inside. Sounds like he was on the waitlist before u, even tho u had an earlier apt. Is that the case? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Look, as much as you are trying to twist words and defend RG, I stated what happened and my issue is with their honor of appt. system. I'm sure this isn't the first time someone talked about "honoring" their "words." I think "that" customer created a ****storm last year on multiple forums. My issue is a small problem, and more of a suggestion. |

Why would I try to twist your words or defend RG? I don't work there. Your post sounds more like a rant and complaint than a suggestion as you said. And TBH, it doesn't sound like they did anything wrong. U had an apt. And then jumped on the waitlist. Person ahead of you did the same and was higher up on the list. Sounds like they did their job. But I could be wrong, wasn't there Last edited by Yodaman; 05-08-2021 at 10:43 PM.. |

Wow
Gun owners can destroy a gun shop faster than anti gunners. Not a call to chat with a manager / owner - just a public post. I’ve had good experiences with RG

I did too have good exp. with RG, before the covid appt system. I never argued otherwise. My only issue is with the appointment system.

Ummm, because they saw him first? That's how their automated system works. They are an great shop. They have humans working there so they aren't perfect, but based off your posts. Sounds like they were doing their job. No twisting words, juts going off what you post. Way to blast them without even asking for a manager or trying to fix it tho. It sounds a little confusing, but there is no reason to get on the waitlist if you have an appointment. It seems the 2:30 guy got there WAY early and got on the waitlist in an attempt to get out of there before his 2:30 appointment, so at that point he is now a FCFS customer and has abandoned his appointment. I sent you a PM to get more info.

When you have an appointment at RifleGear, you just show up. Do NOT sign in onto the waitlist as that is a completely different list.
What time did you end up being seen? I’ve never had any of my dozen plus appointments not be on time. On the contrary I have always been seen early.

Been going to Riflegear for years. Never had anything but great experiences.
Currently waiting out my 10 day dros Started it with an appointment & already scheduled my pickup appointment. Walk in & walk out. Way better than taking the numbers , even before Covid. Riflegear Rocks ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sorry not ignoring you, I very rarely visit calguns anymore but I received an email notice of an update to this thread so I am back. Did you contact the store about the choke? It sounds like Mossberg made a mistake when they packaged the shotgun and I'm sure if you or we contacted them they could get one out to you.
If you are implying we sold you a used shotgun as new or that we were blasting it in the back of the warehouse because we have never seen a 12ga Mossberg before I'm gonna ask you to stop right there, because no we don't do that ![]() |

I have been to RG maybe 5 or 6 times since the Rona. I made appointments each time. When I arrived, I sat on a chair and waited. Someone would always ask what time was my appointment, I would tell them and they would take me next.

Love Riflegear, never had a problem.
They had been great with my purchases and PPTs. Is the "Cracker" thread still around? ![]() Edit: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...hlight=cracker

Joined waitlist at 9:30am on a weekend, was position #5 estimated 45-55 minute wait time. Started my drive out there, got there at 10:05am (they opened at 10am) and was already ready to see me for my Ammo PPT. Was on my way home by 10:15am.

Following up to my own post above with my first experience.
There was a rifle that rarely comes in stock; usually every 6 months or so. I've been adding my email to the notification list for, what feels like, years at this point, but have never been quick enough to purchase before it went out of stock again. Well last week I was able to get my order in quick enough when the email came. Website said 1 in stock, I purchased. Inventory dropped to zero. I had my order confirmation. No problems. Just waiting for the ship-to-store notification so I can go do DROS. Well I called to check on the status of my order and come to find out they "over sold" my rifle. No notification. No email. No phone call. Nothing. Guy on the phone was very friendly and tolerant of my disappointment. I was added to the back-order, but it's going to be another 6 months before another comes in if previous availability is any indication of future availability. So to summarize, my first experience was not good. The failure to notify me that my confirmed live-inventory order wasn't confirmed was a pretty big failure. But the staff did their best to provide a solution and were sympathetic to my disappointment at the situation. I will keep my item on back order and will just call this one a random one-off experience until proven otherwise. I'll update in 6-ish months hopefully! |
