If you received a letter from the California Department of Justice Firearms Division/Bureau of Firearms PLEASE email them to me at matt@calgunlaws.com with the subject "CA DOJ ARCHIVE PROJECT". These will eventually be posted on CalGunLaws.com as a reference for those with questions about firearm issues as well as Attorneys and Public Defenders representing persons accused of violating state gun laws.

I got a letter from the DOJ a few years back about the Walther P22 handguns. After 5 years of selling them, they realized that the gun was specifically designed for, marketed for, and, outside of CA, sold with, silencers, and so they're all assault weapons. Specifically, the barrel was threaded (sort of). They had me Fed Ex the gun back to Massachusetts where the factory changed one part, applied loctite and shipped it back.

Want that letter? I'd have to dig for it but I'm sure I can find it. If not, I know lots of other people got the letter too.
