Default Good cause?

We all know crime is way up in our county. So I’m taking my cww course next week and would like a little Insight to what is referred to as good cause. My main reasoning isn’t self defense per say against a person trying to harm me so my question is that I do a lot of hiking and camping in remote areas know predators and would like to be able to protect myself in case of a cougar or bear coming at me. Is that a viable reason?. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

None needed - From the Riverside Sheriff website;

https://riversideca.permitium.com/ccw/start

Quote:
Concealed Carry Weapon License Requirements: must meet ALL requirements
Completing the Application

Answering all the questions on this standard application does not guarantee the issuance of a Carry Concealed Weapon license. The determination whether to issue the license is at the discretion of the licensing authority. Pursuant to California Penal Code section 26160, each licensing authority will have a written policy summarizing their requirements for issuance of a Carry Concealed Weapon license. In addition, prior to issuing a Carry Concealed Weapon license, the state statutes require proof that:

The applicant is of good moral character;
Good cause exists to issue the Concealed Carry Weapon license;
The applicant meets residence requirements; and
The course of training prescribed by the licensing authority has been completed.
You have about a 99% chance of getting a CCW in Riverside. Good luck!

The bear and cougar GC has always been laughable in California. But go for it as the CC units always need a good laugh and to deny a few here and there.

BTW, have you listened to and understood anything on the news lately? Ya know, 2A related?

The Supreme Court has ruled on the good cause issue.

It's unconstitutional. Just put N/A.

And do a little research.

Give him a break; he just joined.

It’d be a true moment for those that have been here for years and don’t have a clue.

Thank you for the info fellas. And to jeepergoe I appreciate the scrutiny but I don’t know if you’ve ever crossed a cougar, I have and it’s not fun.
