Default BLM south of Banning is now restricted

Was there this morning and a BLM park ranger told us that the BLM in the hills just south of Banning are now off limits for shooting.

Apparently a lot of people were getting complaints of bullets flying over houses and shots landing near them.

Also there's trash EVERYWHERE.

Good work idiots (not ya'll, just in general).

Anyone know any private ranges nearby that will let me shoot AR500 in a private bay?

Thanks.

I'm surprised this area didn't fall under the county ordnance which got everyone kicked out of Steele Peak and the other spots in Lake Elsinore and Menifee over the last year. Bee Canyon is still open though.

For now it is, last clean up we had like 12 people, the one before that maybe 15. IF we want it to stay open we need attendance of 30 plus, There is one coming up in MAY

Is there a date set yet? Right now I have middle of the week days off, but starting May 19th I'm switching to weekends off. I would be willing to assist, but I don't have a truck or suv to get up the trail (Corolla). I do have heavy duty trash bags and rakes though.

As you just saw with the May 5 clean up Calico1404, the group of volunteers that show up to clean the canyons is generally less than 20, but they get the job done. For all of the years the clean up has occurred, with a few exceptions, that is usually the number of people that come out. It would be great to have enough people to clean all of the canyons at once, but since people are shooting on some, I don't see that occurring practically speaking. Thanks for coming out this past weekend and for bringing food and drinks. Yes, to some of us, donuts are food, not just snacks.

blueman, your Corolla will make it just fine as long as the road isn't torn up by heavy rain. When that occurs, the Rangers usually have a bulldozer come in and fix pretty fast. It's a hard packed dirt road and plenty of cars have driven to the ranges there without a problem. Please check the Range Clean up thread forum from time to time to see when Eat Dirt posts the next clean up of Bee Cyn. ranges.

Does this look familiar?
