I took my 9mm RIA 1911 back to Mark Bunach, The OC Gunsmith, and we put our heads together. That's what we came up with. I used a Kensight Defensive Adjustable Rear Sight (Novak cut) and a Novak .225 tall front sight. The compensator is from Wilson Combat. The OC Gunsmith did the finish job too! That's Cerakote "Armor Black" and Cerakote "Burnt Bronze". I am supremely pleased with how the gun turned out. Plus, it's a blast to shoot...literally! The compensator creates an impressive muzzle flash, and since it's just a 9mm, it is extremely easy to control and it's very accurate. Cheers, fellow RIA owners! --1911ShooterPhil

Just broke my FS tactical out of jail. Ran a few boxes of cheap-*** tula and no jams, flawless. Just need a FO front sight and I'll be a happy camper

TheExiled, can you describe what you did to that RIA 1911? It looks sweet! --1911ShooterPhil

Certainly, I started with Wilson Combat 'drop in' parts to upgrade the grip safety, hammer, sear, springs etc, then added Trijicon night sights and a rail to the front, then Alumahyde'd it Desert Tan.

Heres a link to the write up threads I did-

2011 is the series of the pistol not the year. RIA has a 2011 series which comes in double stack or single stack.

Let me know if you have any questions. A lot of people said it would come loose after 100 rounds or so Iv got almost 350 through it and it's solid. About to go put another 250 through it tomorrow. The tac light really dose help with the recoil for the fiancé. When I take it off you get the full force of the kick.

EDIT - the rail was made and fitted by don for my gun. It's not a off shelf buy thing.

I was one month too soon when I bought my RIA last year.
One month after i bought mine they removed the billboard from the slide and reduced it to a small logo to the rear of the slide.

Dang they look nice.
