Default How should I prep against bird flu?

Well, here it comes:

1st-evidence-new-bird-flu-spreads-from-person-to-person

I have never really thought about virus's and flu's when preparing, so where does one start for this possible outbreak?

What do you need in the case of a flu bug?

Fluids, particularly broths, soft foods, juices, etc.

In a pandemic if the news comes to you while at the airport - you are pretty much unprepared and hosed. If it comes to you at home and you are capable of bugging in long term - you should be fine.

1) Don't hang out in Chinese chicken processing plants
2) Don't pick up chicks who work in Chinese chicken processing plants (or dudes if that's your thing, I'm not judging)

This avian flu strain has, thus far, not been a very communicable one. If it was, there'd be thousands of deaths in China, not dozens.

In the scope of things to be concerned about for an American prepper who doesn't frequent China, avian flu should currently rank somewhere around "skynet becoming self-aware" and "Miley Cyrus goes on rampage with a pink AR but doesn't bring any ammo because XM193 doesn't match her shoes".

IANAD

Most people are infected either orally or by inhalation. If you cut your head off your chances of catching the bird flu are reduced dramatically.

Proper diet and exercise is better than anyhting as a proper ph level makes it nearly imposible to get the cold. What ever you do don't get the flu shot it supresses your immune system for 48 hours and you are twice as likely to get it during that time. Alot of the flu panic is pushed by big pharma trying to sell their flu shots. It is quite rare to die from the flu, most are children with bad immune systems and old people with bad immune systems. If your worried about it oil of oregano is a great remedy for it. The only real danger is the super bugs they intentionly make in labs for both profit and bio warfare where they hold class 4 germs in a class 2 facility and have frequent saftey incidents. A good place to find out about natreul stuff for your health is www.motherearthnews.com it is also a magaine that you could subscribe to. THey have alot of good herbal remedies for it and especially for the flu.

Want to buy a case of N95 respirators?

I have some from the last go 'round, SARS if memory serves.

Baby wipes...

So you can clean your a** before you kiss it goodbye.

I think quarantine is the only way unless you buy a hazmat suit. N95 masks and standard gas masks wont help you.

Be sure to have someone put duct tape over the hole that leads to your lungs tho.... All it'd take would be for a little bird to poop down your neck and then you're screwed.

Are you asking for what med supplies you need or for another year of quarantine?

Yup, and grandma's old 'remedy' chicken soup. I also remember her and mom's cold compresses for managing fever. Our bodies are amazing machines. Let them feed and use common sense. A healthy person can suffer a lot of impacts of all sorts and still keep going. Plenty of us have, both disease and injury. Those of us who are old have also gone through numerous pandemics and IMO recent times are historic in the disruption of life compared to past incidences going way back to the 50's, which is my experience. Unprecedented.

Do you even INTERNET, BRUH?!?!?

I prefer Gin an tonics, on the daily-though.
Gargle (google) Tonic and zinc, if you don't normally Internet... BRUH.

IRL, What is REALLY funny is that I haven't been sick for more than a day (maybe just a cold) in over a YEAR, as I drink gin and tonic every day.
I have traveled to 2 additional states, and maybe I was just lucky, BUT maybe I have a fix that assists one's body in preventing virus reproduction?

I do eat a lot on nuts (zinc), and drink a lot of tonic, but the Gin is just for flavor... ... ...

Yesterday I felt uncomfortable, stomach issues and chest congestion, and 5 minutes after drinking 500ML of Tonic and lime with 1/2 shot of gin, I felt fine the rest of the night.
Not saying anything REALZ, or do this, but it helped ME...
