Default Any Daisy 856 owners / experts here?

Hey folks, got an older (1989 / 1990) era Daisy 856, it's a pneumatic pump combo BB / pellet rifle with a rifled barrel. Had many good adventures with it in days gone by..

Well, the darn thing leaks air every time it's pumped. So, turning to Google, I searched exhaustively for all things related to this airgun, and found that the Daisy 880 is a close relative to this rifle.

Things I've done already:

1) Almost complete teardown - it's all in pieces now here on an old t-shirt on my floor.

2) Replaced 2 o-rings as part of the pumping mechanism. Bought a nice 300+ piece set of all the o-rings I'll ever think I'll need, from Harbor Freight for about $8.

I'm trying to unsuccessfully get into the chamber valve area to check the condition of that seal / o-ring, but for the life of Daisy, I can't figure out how to get either the abutment off the chamber, or to even open up the chamber at all. The abutment isn't pinned in place, nor does there appear to be an obvious way to get the chamber open.

So, wise Calgunners, anyone with experience refreshing something like an old Daisy 856?

Yes I found replacement parts online but the goal is to get this thing up and running for the lowest cost possible, and buying all of the internals to basically rebuild the gun isn't part of the immediate plan just yet.

Ok ok.. yeah, I know this is not a popular Daisy model, seeing as how it was discontinued in 2004.

Update, using some pipe wrenches, I got the abutment removed - it's threaded and screws into the valve assembly.

Looks like I need to try to find the following spare parts:

860AB
860OA

Back to Google...

Edited to add:
The valve stem, part # DAI850, appears to be discontinued. Still searching...

Time to quit wasting time.

Buy a new and better air rifle.

There's one for sale in Citrus Heights on Craigslist Sacramento, says it works well $35, complete with box.

Hah hah!

Nah.

I found an air gun specific forum, where I found some recommendations. I got it fixed - 100% up and running now.

Thanks, but I don't need something newer at this time.

Wow. If it's old enough, it's going to also need an overhaul. Anyway - mine's working, all good. Thanks for pointing this one out.
