Thumbs up (5 min video) "Secrets To Avoid Getting Mugged: A Veteran Thief Reveals All"

Unfortunately, nowadays, a mugger isn't always only interested in money. Lots of videos showing BGs needlessly kicking/stomping on guy victim's heads just for the fun of it or practice and, well, ladies already know they may be forced to give more than just money....

That's a good clip; thanks for sharing. I know the criminal they interviewed was from New York or something; but, it's still worth hearing what he has to say about who he picked and how he did it.

I am an alumna volunteer on the board of directors for my sorority. Our monthly meetings are held in the evenings at the sorority house a block from campus. It's amazing to see how many college kids (men and women) will walk in the dark with their cell phones out and not pay attention. There are frequent reports of muggings and robberies in the area of the campus. Sometimes the criminals in that area will pull up in a car and jump out on the sidewalk and do the muggings. Often they will troll the campus area and wait for someone they see where they can snatch her phone right out of her hands.

So, when I go to the sorority board meetings and have to park in the campus parking garage a half a block away, I am very mindful of where I'm walking and who is near me. When I think things might be unsafe or I see someone sketchy that is eyeballing me, I will start walking "like a man" - squared up, heavy stepping, strong eye contact and with my arms slightly out like I'm about to eff somebody up. I want to give off the vibe that I'm paying attention, that I'm not an easy victim, and will fight. I've been doing this since I was in college myself and it works great.

Of course, having my CCW is my great equalizer in the event that someone does decide to go for me anyway.
