Default CCW - Gun Modification

Newbie here

Could you modify the gun your registering for CCW application?
Before or after?

Just curious

Hard to say. Who’s your issuing agency?

Default LA Fixed after training

LA sets your CCW guns at the training. Application is not relevant. No changes during 2 year period.

All depends on your issuing agency, other counties do this differently.

I think you're asking if you can make modifications to the actual guns you're putting on your permit? My CCW course provider said no electronic sights for the qualification. Afterwards though, I don't think there's any issue adding mods to the pistols on your permit. Whether or not you should is a different question and you'll get various opinions.

For example, imagine a scenario where you're involved in a righteous shoot. Straight up self defense. However you accidentally shot a bystander. If it comes out that you had lightened your trigger pull, a very popular mod for all types of guns, the attorney for the inevitable civil suit you're facing will most definitely be bringing that up. Will your attorney be able to effectively argue that a lighter trigger pull actually increases accuracy? Who knows.

L.A. County allows modifications as long as it does not violate any State or Federal regulations.
