Default French noob

Hi everyone

I’m French, established since 2 years in California. I was shooting weekly since 12 years in France, and owning some nice guns.

1911 addict, I love mostly old military guns since metallic cartridge invention to 70’s.

I hope that you will forgive my approximate English and that i will learn a lot from you

Thanks

Default New to Cal Guns

Hello everyone. I am new to Cal Guns. I would like to post a pistol for sale but I had a question about shipping. Is agreeing to ship it a good or bad thing? It seems like most people on here post "no ship." I live way up in Eureka, CA so I am assuming agreeing to ship the pistol could be in my best interest? Thanks for the help.

Welcome dhill.

What gun?
Off roster guns cannot be shipped. (With some exceptions.)

Shipping can be a bit of a pain, to many it is not worth the trouble, but if you are the seller, that is up to you.

There are a few scammers here so you have to be careful about payment.
FTF (face to face) at an FFL is considered a cash only deal.

You might get your asking price locally, maybe try that first?

If you do ship, make sure to state that no refunds are guaranteed if the buyer fails the background check.
(You can choose to refund something after deducting a "fair" amount your time and expenses.)

GLWS.

hi and welcome d002.

what garv said. it's up to you if you want to ship or no ship depending on how much you trust the buyer/seller. it's just a business arrangement.

Hey all, new here. Got my FSC yesterday, now just reading up on what I need to know! Taking a big interest in off-roster handguns, which is very torturous especially to my wallet haha. I know CCW in LA County is practically impossible, so now just looking into home defense and a good time at the range once this virus crisis dies down.

Iím learning to be more comfortable around guns too. Been a long journey before yesterday; always had an interest since I was a kid, but in fact it always made me anxious! Once I can find some training and finally hold and shoot a gun, Iíll for sure be more comfortable. But for now Iím in no rush and will be going on my own pace. Hope you all are safe and well!

Welcome Dellinav.

Have fun in your search.

If you want, you can post up a thread to ask for ideas/help.

Expect a lot of opinions and sift through them as needed.

Smile Realtor from Georgia living in Orange County Thinking about CWP

I'm from South Georgia and grew up Hunting and Fishing. I migrated to New Mexico. Member of Ducks Unlimited and NRA for years but since I've moved to Ca. I put that behind me. But as a Realtor I need protection. But I think I'm going to sell my guns. Why because the Police in my city are quick responding and I just think I don't need them.

SIG P229 Extreme 9mm I bought it at on target 2018 for $1150 selling for $850.00 Used for one year only.

While SIG SAUER pistols are functionally flawless right out-of-the-box, some shooters can't resist taking things up a notch. For them, SIG SAUER offers the EXTREME series, six of our most popular models (coming soon) tricked out with all the features a shooter could want, from short reset triggers, front cocking serrations to custom grips and more. ??Trigger Pull DA 10.0 lbs ?? Trigger Pull SA 4.4 lbs? Sights SIGLITE Night Sights ??Grips Hogue Extreme G-10 Grips ??Frame Finish Black Hard Anodized ??Slide Finish Nitron ??Accessory Rail Yes ??Options SRT - Short Reset Trigger

R. Colson
Thank you..

Welcome zyxw.

Post handguns sales here for the right people to see them.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/f...play.php?f=332

GLWS

I hope you are keeping at least one gun in your possession.
The police response time may not be enough the way things have been going recently.

Welcome alyoakley.

DROS has been taking longer than 10 days lately due to high number of purchases.

I suggest you check for your approval before driving over.

Hello!

Like with the others that have same the same thing as above, Iíve been lurking around calguns, and decided to create an account to reply to a few people who had specific questions about rifles such as a Howa M300 Carbine.

Will probably also post about a few unique rifles too later on when the DROS process for one finishes, but my interests are in both Surplus C&R and Modern firearms.

They seemed fairly good on their time frame, but for sure not expecting it on the minute or even the day. I'm there all the time anyway, and the cool thing is, they will let me shoot it while I'm waiting (gun shop @ a range)

New to CalGuns but a born and raised California native in NorCal.
i've had some exposure to firearms as a kid going to the range shooting 22's up through my early teen years. In my early twenties I'd go shooting with a buddy and used his handguns. 9mm, 45, revolvers, M1, etc. However, it's been over 10 years since I've shot anything and have talked with the wife over the last couple years about making our 1st firearm purchase.
I'll tell you what,...I honestly can't believe how ignorant I am to all of the gun laws we have. Yes, mainly because it didn't concern/effect me I really didn't pay close attention to the changes. (Shame on me, I know)
But now that we are really pursuing it, I'm here to learn about the different safety courses near Sacramento, find a community I can ask questions and seek advise. And who knows...maybe pick up an APX for cheap...haha

Hello,
Name Paul I'm a husband and have 2 kids boy 21 and girl 7. I am here for more info and tips/tricks for gun laws from a public stand point example CCW/EDC. I have plenty experience with firearms from a hunting- duck, pheasant, deer and range time and friends property. I want to get my ccw and purchase a firearm to ever day carry. I am very green on what's out there all my experience is with inherited pistols and my shotguns, not sure on brand, or caliber thinking appendix carry but I'm a bigger guy so here to learn.

Welcome CC925.

I am assuming you live in a CCW-friendly area, good for you.

Maybe post up a thread telling us what you are thinking about in a carry gun and get opinions. (There will be quite a few.)

To some here, the answer is Glock and "get both".

Good luck.
