As somebody who had straight "A"s in mandatory "Scientific Communism" classes in college, I have recognized D rhetoric as picked up straight from little red commissar book back when I came over in early nineties. But I thought, sure, this country will never fall to this.

The illegals you are talking about are often legals parents, cousins, etc. The legal ones could be staunch gun owners, but wont vote R if you call their cousin bad names...

Or the republican party will need to appeal more to urban areas. The country will only get more densely populated over time. Dense population = democrat (for now).

Fight is not hopeless, and that is the definition of selfish. Also, last I checked, I still have plenty of guns in my safe, and carry them when hunting or target shooting, so only important thing I am giving up is CCW. Which is not hopeless.

You do not need 4 million new votes to flip a few districts back.

At least NM has a solid, recently amended RTKBA as part of its state constitution

Sec. 6. [Right to bear arms.]
No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons. No municipality or county shall regulate, in any way, an incident of the right to keep and bear arms. (As amended November 2, 1971 and November 2, 1986.)

I point out recently amended because that lends credence what was meant by arms... as of 1986, AR-15's were well known, machine guns existed (and, being 1986, were a topic of debate nationally) and were available, "high capacity magazines" existed, etc. To say that the amendment didn't mean "assault weapons" will be a stretch.

Further, the fact that it expressly carves out concealed carry as NOT protected from legislation adds additional reason to believe that any other restrictions are beyond the power of the state legislature.

Unfortunately, the NM State Supreme court consists of one Republican and two Democrats.

Should be interesting.

So you are only asking people to give up their right to self-defense outside their home on the basis of your blithe assessment that California’s RKBA problem will be solved by ‘flipping a few districts’?
