Anybody fly out from Lindberg field since the shutdown?
Hey SD forum,
Has anybody flown out of Lindbergh with a checked firearm since the shutdown began? Any delays or issues? I've usually had a quick and easy experience checking in, filling out the declaration, and flying out but am worried if the shutdown might be affecting this process in terms of delays or worse Thanks! |

I just got through and sat down at the gate. Everything felt smooth as usual. |

I’m flying out right now from SAN as I type with a declared firearm. Didn’t take any longer than usual to declare. I did arrive 2 hours before departure. The line for the TSA seems to be affected a little by the shutdown but seems like business as usual.

Getting ready to fly...
Do they provide you with the declaration form? How picky are they about the locked hard case? Thank you

Flew on AA yesterday, discreetly informed the lady at kiosk about firearms checkin. She walked me to a different line; the agent at that line asked me if the weapon is unloaded and locked in a hard case, I have pelican case, and ammo were in their own box. He filled out a little form and I signed it. He then taped it in the hard case, that’s it. He didn’t even ask me to open the hard case. I waited approximately 15 minutes if TSA would call me but they didn’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This so called shut down was just a pay freeze, unlike when they actually shut down and furloughed DOD employees a couple of years ago. |
