The new Democrats do not even bother to deny that they are straight up Socialist/Communists.

And brain dead to history the useless idiots follow them...

They will be lead right into Caracas.

And be down to selling themselves for hard currency and eating cats and dogs and zoo animals.. The usual Communist paradise.
As somebody who had straight "A"s in mandatory "Scientific Communism" classes in college, I have recognized D rhetoric as picked up straight from little red commissar book back when I came over in early nineties. But I thought, sure, this country will never fall to this.

But now a new generation of clueless grew, and socialism sympathizers poured over the southern border, and here we are, staring at the abyss.

We beat Soviet Union 1.0, but it took 70 years. Sad I will not live long enough to see 2.0 fall. My only hope Europe goes full retard first, and it will be a cautionary tale here, and some will wake the **** up.

From what NPR reports, immigrants used to vote R because R was the "working party" work hard, get ahead. NPR propaganda, or something else?

The illegals you are talking about are often legals parents, cousins, etc. The legal ones could be staunch gun owners, but wont vote R if you call their cousin bad names...

Just saying, gotta be a better way to get immigrants on the side of values.

"But I thought, sure, this country will never fall to this."

My pard who was Royal Lao Army says the same thing. He can not believe whats happening.

Its sad as hell- I think it will happen, America will turn socialist- and the end result will be very ugly.

Look at the scowl on Comrade Bernie's face and AOC's when President Trump said "America will not go Socialist"- they will want revenge against "the old people" post year zero. Big time

I hope to hell I am wrong.

Or the republican party will need to appeal more to urban areas. The country will only get more densely populated over time. Dense population = democrat (for now).

A big wall to start will help. Then one can offer a path to citizenship for those who are already there. Otherwise it will be chaos.

Default Sheriffs will Not Enforce

"Thankfully, most of New Mexico’s sheriffs are opposed to these gun control bills. Of the 33 sheriffs in the state, 29 have voiced disapproval of the package of anti-gun legislation by issuing a declaration through the state sheriffs’ association, stating that the “rush to react to the violence by proposing controls on guns is ill-conceived and is truly a distraction to the real problems proliferating violence in our counties and our state.”

CBS 7 spoke with Lea County Sheriff Corey Helton, who explained why he objects to the proposed legislation.

“You’re just taking guns out of law-abiding citizen’s hands. This is not going to affect the criminals out there. They’re going to be able to get guns and they do not follow the law.” Helton added that there are enough effective laws on the books and these new measures are either redundant or unconstitutional."

This...this sums it up quite nicely...

Nobody will risk anything...except other people’s rights and money.

You’re going to need about 4 million new conservative votes for California.

I do have to admire the chutzpah of calling people who are unwilling to give up their RKBA to stay here in California to fight your hopeless fight ‘selfish’.

Fight is not hopeless, and that is the definition of selfish. Also, last I checked, I still have plenty of guns in my safe, and carry them when hunting or target shooting, so only important thing I am giving up is CCW. Which is not hopeless.

You do not need 4 million new votes to flip a few districts back.

At least NM has a solid, recently amended RTKBA as part of its state constitution

Quote:
Sec. 6. [Right to bear arms.]
No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons. No municipality or county shall regulate, in any way, an incident of the right to keep and bear arms. (As amended November 2, 1971 and November 2, 1986.)
I point out recently amended because that lends credence what was meant by arms... as of 1986, AR-15's were well known, machine guns existed (and, being 1986, were a topic of debate nationally) and were available, "high capacity magazines" existed, etc. To say that the amendment didn't mean "assault weapons" will be a stretch.

Further, the fact that it expressly carves out concealed carry as NOT protected from legislation adds additional reason to believe that any other restrictions are beyond the power of the state legislature.

Unfortunately, the NM State Supreme court consists of one Republican and two Democrats.

Should be interesting.

You do not need 4 million new votes to flip a few districts back.
So you are only asking people to give up their right to self-defense outside their home on the basis of your blithe assessment that California’s RKBA problem will be solved by ‘flipping a few districts’?
