Default GSSF and CGSSA Presents: GLOCK West Coast Challenge IV - Fall (11/16 & 11/17)

On Saturday, November 16, 2019 and Sunday, November 17, 2019 we'll be hosting the The GLOCK West Coast Challenge IV - Fall at Burro Canyon Shooting Park (22100 E East Fork Rd, Azusa, CA 91702) in Azusa, CA).

As always, we'll be looking for a platoon of high speed (low drag) volunteers to help us set up and run the event. We'll be running shifts for 1/2 Day Friday (setup), All Day Saturday, and All Day Sunday. As a volunteer, you will earn an entry for each day worked into the special drawing of a free GLOCK Pistol. This drawing is just for the volunteers and the winner will be drawn at the end of the day on Sunday (you do not have to be present to win). In addition, each volunteer will receive a trendy GLOCK Range Officer Polo Shirt, a GLOCK Range Officer Hat, and complimentary gift of their choice from GLOCK for each day worked. If youíre a volunteer who has volunteered both days (Saturday & Sunday), but is also competing, we will do our best to allow you time off to shoot your match (or matches). If youíre volunteering on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday youíll have the opportunity to shoot your matches on Friday afternoon after set up if you would like.

VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION

RANGE OFFICER GUIDE

If you're not familiar with GSSF matches here's a nice 17 minute video that takes you stage by stage and division by division.

I hope to see you there...

Definitely in for weekend, and signed up another volunteer too! Can't wait!

Unfortunately won't be able to make it this time around... I wasn't communicated with regarding travel plans that weekend with the fam. Good luck to all!

I typically head home each night as it earns me more points with the Mrs, but I stayed out there one year, and it was a lot easier in the morning. So, if you promise that I can be the outer spoon, I might consider it.

Saturday is always heavier day, but Sunday the RO crowd usually thins a bit. Thanks for volunteering!

Yes!!!

I don't think we've worked together since I used to run the Gun Show Booths with X down in Costa Mesa. It's been far too long.

Of the weekend days, Sunday is running lighter than Saturday volunteer wise.

Thanks again for stepping up, and making the drive.

In addition to general setup an tear down of the stages before (Friday), and after (Sunday evening) the event, the volunteers will perform general range officer duties to help run the match effective and efficiently.

Specific details about RO duties can be found in the RANGE OFFICER GUIDE.

If you're available and willing to volunteer your time, we'd love to have you.

Anyone on the fence about volunteering, go ahead and do it. More volunteers are always needed. Jacob (pennysdad) and Chad (RoundEye) WILL find something for you to do. If it's your first time, let them know and they will find room for you to experience a bit of everything if you want. Chris also provides you with an awesome grilled lunch!

Bring eye/ear pro (sunglasses) , sunscreen, water, a hat/something to protect your neck and face from the sun (the bigger the better), gloves, tools. Pretty much everything else is provided.

Read up on the courses of fire (only 3 stages) and the R/O commands. Chad appoints a veteran "Head R/O" for each stage. They will walk you through everything if you have questions.

Sign up, you will not regret it!

For the “regular” divisions the maximum round count is 107 if you fire them all (but won’t). I typically bring about 150 per to account for a possible reshoot should it be needed.

The ported barrel will bump you to unlimited, so I’d swap it back to stock.

I might suggest you shoot Amateur Civilian also as there are some special awards in there and it gives you another shot at a random prize. If you are feeling really froggy you can do Major Sub also!

Like Chad said, bring 150 rounds per division and I usually recommend shooting at least 2 divisions, Comp & Civilian. It seems like it takes 1 to figure out what you are doing and it's more relaxed the second time around.

Yeah, I wasn't sure which yet. I remember last year Heavy Metal was sort of like the red-headed step child. I still need to see what my timing and availability looks like, it's a busy weekend!

going to help setup Friday. I'll check the stages out. I'm prepared to be a mess first shoot lol. I shot competition like 25 years ago. win, lose or draw I had a blast. the people were a lot of fun. my niece in laws husband shoots with me off hodge road. Told him about the fun I had. he is anxious to go. I'm the type, if I had a great run I'm happy. a disaster, I'll have a good laugh. if I had fun, I win.
