Default Liberty safe

Model # 7664T-GYM-E-DP.....does anybody have any experience with this safe?

The more I look at this one the more I like it. I have a Sportsman Steel safe that was over built on my part. I know the door of the Liberty isn't as well built as my my SS but the safe does have some nice features for the price.

The Liberty will probably be used for overflow from my SS and ammo.

Do yourself a favor and peruse your local classifieds, like OfferUp. Many bargains are to be had for much better safes.

I usually look at them once or twice a month. They have a lot of safes that are not made in the USA and once in a while you'll find a good one but the prices have never been that great.

But yes, I will look again before I do buy.

Get a Sturdy Safe and you'll never be disappointed.

I've owned the 50 size model of the 1776 for 3ish? years now. I'm very happy with it. No issues so far. I opted to replace the electronic lock for an S&G dial. Yeah, there's better safes out there that cost a good bit more but for the money I think the 1776 is a good buy. I thought they had discontinued the model, not sure.

If you're buying used and have no delivery, that could be extra costs and having non-pros delivering your safe can pose privacy concerns.

Maybe I should start another thread asking about Sturdy safes. You did read the OP, right

I hear ya. I'd replace the electronic lock asap for the dial. They seem like a good safe for the money

I’ve had a Liberty Lincoln for 15 years; just picked up a FatBoy Jr.

Solid and reliable. I live near to a Liberty showroom, and had their guys deliver and install both times. Clean, effective, knowledgeable and quick.

The 1776 appears to be a Tractor Supply flow-through, which means you’ll probably get a random delivery crew that won’t install. Customer service feedback shows a number of dissatisfied TS deliveries.

Check for Liberty dealers in your area and see what their pricing with delivery will run. Also check the Liberty site for sales…4th of July is coming.

I had the manual dial on the first safe and found it to be a PITA…small numbers, shiny chrome background made dialing it accurately difficult.

Prior to buying the second, I talked to a busy FFL in town who has used electronic locks on 7 Liberty safes in his shop for 20 years. Zero problems, and he is in/out of the safes all day. I got the new safe with electronic dial and switched out the other safe to electronic (kept the innards, just in case).

The e-lock is great.

As always, YMMV.
