Depends. some will want a copy of your credentials, others want a purchase letter, most wont bother and refuse sale to CA.
targetsportsusa will ship direct once you email them a copy of your credentials. they are my go to vendor for hassle free ammo.

FWIW...most out of state ammo companies don't care or want to mess with CA and this is a de-facto prohibition on getting mail order ammo...
 ETA- Please pm or post here which places will? Brownells will send to LE after receipt of credentials. Gunmagwarehouse will send mags after receipt of credentials.

30352(e)(8)(A) PC exempts LE from ammo background checks, however DOJ has a conflicting opinion in the regulatory literature provided to FFLs, and most dealers rely on the opinion instead of reading state law.
It’s silly.

I just stick with Rogers and Targetsports. Less options, but they're easy. Several gunbroker sellers know the law well enough to ship to LEO or 03/COE also.

Targetsports is the easiest to deal with that I have found. You create an account, check the law enforcement box and there’s instructions for submitting credentials.
They initially shut down sales when the law passed but were actually really receptive to people emailing them about it still being legal to sell to LEO’s. I emailed them asking if they would be willing to reconsider and they responded by asking for the exact Penal Code sections. I sent them to their customer service and they said they’ll submit it to their legal department and get back to me. A couple weeks later, I got an email stating I could order ammo again. I know several others on here did the same. Because of this, they’re my go to ammo vender now. Gunmagwarehouse is the same with standard capacity magazines. I haven’t tried to order ammo from them though.

Well, after two weeks of going in circles with Brownells, my LGS put out their new ad on 9/15 and, just my luck, they happen to have a great deal on the .40 I was looking for. So, I just drove over this morning and picked up 1k of .40 for $150 less than I would have paid at Brownell's for the exact same boxes. Plus, I supported my LGS. Plus, I drove home with it immediately. I had to do the stupid ammo background check song and dance number; but, in and out 10,000x faster than Brownells customer service.

Targetsportsusa occasionally sends out unannounced freebies to their customers. I received a box from them when I hadn’t ordered anything recently, and inside was a nice cleaning kit and new plastic ammo can.
Their “My Account” page is very detailed and you can see exactly what you have bought and the dollar amount spent from day 1. If you do their VIP membership option, all shipping is free and they plain wrap everything. Absolutely Solid Company.

They ammo is remanufactured but super ho quality, and have a nice 9mm 147grain competition soft recoil round available too.
