I totally agree about the 6 ROs all the time. When you have that many folks policing 5 people shooting during the week, they almost have to yell at you for some minor, not safety compromising issue, just to justify their being there.

I've been yelled at by some cranky ROs there for putting up my target in the plastic pipe things the wrong way. Just show me how to do it, don't yell at me because I don't know how to do it.

Spending what you don't have is a sure sign of monetary mismanagement.
Just something to think about.
The huge deficit is due to all the wasted time, effort and $$$ in the 3-1/2 years or so when the 5 clubs couldn't get their act together and come up with a proper and fiscally responsible plan for the rebuild. In the entire time the R&P range was closed USI was hemorrhaging $$$. That is a fact plain and simple. Throw in Corona, the ammo situation along with some toxic employees and yeah I can see how the whole thing is on the edge of bankruptcy...

The dirty little secret about this whole misadventure is that it was completely avoidable. The most likely culprit to projectiles going over the hill was the standing and shooting sections. If the powers that be had simply eliminated those on the rifle side and added elevation bars to the remaining benches the range could have stayed open while a proper plan was fleshed out.

A range also doesn’t need three people at a check in desk. One will do. Happy to wait in line to pay fees if it means not paying $200 extra per year. Not sure what the legalities are, but there are ranges out there with no RSOs whatsoever.
