Does anyone know of any FFLs anywhere in the Bay Area that are handling PPT of ammunition? I've called/emailed many places and the few who respond say they don't do ammo. Has anyone had a recent experience with selling PPT of ammo via an FFL in the Bay Area? Thanks!

I contacted them and got this in an email from Chris:

We do perform ammunition transfers between 2 individuals. The cost is $5 from any amount going from 1 person to another, with both parties present. You would also pay the ammunition background check fee which is either $1 or $19, depending. We do all background check paperwork by appointment only. If you would like to pursue this please set up an appointment with us.

Are you familiar with the document requirements for both the buyer and seller for a transfer? Have you done an ammunition purchase before that required a background check?

Hopefully this is not answered somewhere else, but in the forum for PPT of ammo you're only allowed to list 500 rounds for sale per 30 days, but in previous posts in this thread people are talking about 1000 rounds or more in a PPT.

So my questions is how many rounds per month can I sell in a private party transfer?

5 shops I called said its not worth the hassle.

Invoiced amount over $400 = 10% of invoiced amount

Aeon Tac:
$25 for 1 to 1000rds
$40 for 1001 to 3000rds
$60 form 3001rds to 5000rds

I was there a few weeks ago. Rohi (Owner) said he'll just charge the $1 background check. Whether it's $5 or $1, that's still cheap.

They no longer take in ammo shipments but they will process an ammo PPT within the parameters of the law 500 rounds a month.

If you’re selling .22 ammo you’re going to be frustrated you can only sell 500 rds per MONTH. I have bricks larger than that.
