Fellow member "Nestor" scammed me out of $165. Appears he has been scamming for a long time now on several other forums. I sent the following message to the mods via "Contact Us" but havent heard anything so here it is again:

Hi, I was scammed by another member here, "Nestor", for $165. I had posted over a month ago looking for a specific ak stock and Nestor contacted me saying he had one. We worked out the details and I sent over payment. I sent payment on December 25th, he said he would ship it on the 2nd when he got back into town, 4 days passed after the 2nd so i contacted him and he told that he had contracted covid and would be in quarantine for 3 weeks. I told him id wait as i really wanted the stock. He told me he would update me "every now and then". For 3 weeks i would get on Calguns just about every day to see if he messaged me. No messages but i did see he was online basically every day. On the day before the 3 weeks was up i sent him a message basically just reminding him of our deal. He didnt reply although i saw he was on Calguns multiple times a day for the next 2 days before i messaged him again asking if he saw my message. Now i had sent this guy 165 bucks of my money and he told me he would contact me every now and then during the 3 weeks but didnt so i was getting pretty frustrated and suspicious so i took the email i had used to send the money to through paypal (zalescarlosgon@gmail.com) searched it online and it came back with a scammer warning from over on Ak Forum. It seems this guy has been scamming people for years some for a pretty sizeable amount of money. Well after this i messaged him telling him he needs to reply back immediately. He didnt but i saw that he had been looking at his private messages and had saw my messages and clearly had been ducking me. I replied back again and he finally replied back saying he was sick and blah blah blah. I had pretty good proof that he was scamming me so i tried to pursuade him to just give me back my money since i already knew his intentions. He told me i had to wait till today, the 31st, for him to get paid. I eventually agreed and waited and he sent me exactly $1 via paypal saying he couldn't believe i was doing this to a "sick" man and ill get my next payment ($1 id assume or probably nothing) next week. I obviously went a bit off the rails with him after that. My frustration with this guy knows no bounds. If the guy is really sick then i feel for him but i cant take a word of this for truth. Id assume yall are able to access both of our private messages but if not id be glad to send them all over to you as well as a few paypal and Calguns screenshots i took. Attached below is the link to the AK Forum i mentioned. I look forward to your reply.

I tried adding negative feedback to him to warn any other potential buyers but i couldnt due to there not being an official "deal url". If there is any additional info needed id be happy to give it. Ive never been scammed before so im new to this. I will be filing a police report on him and i noticed in his old threads that he is a DACA student and shouldnt even own firearms so i will be giving USCIS a call

Definitely a big lesson learned. I will for sure do my homework on people in the future. If anything i feel fortunate he only got me for $165 as hes scammed several people for a whole lot more. Ive tried to get in touch with the mods about him but haven't heard anything. Any mods in particular i should contact?

It's obvious he is a scammer, and even banned on akforums for being a scammer.

I already reported him to the mods, but looks like no action is being taken. (There is like a report button on the post options.)

Not much we can do at this point.

THEN, he stole my pictures and tried to scam other users out of $1000-$1200 and falsely sell MY rifle to other users! They showed me screenshots! He is an illegal, dangerous scammer!

I just received pm's from two possible scammers replying to a WTB post I made in C&R; Danielbrittain620 and lordelarde: I reported both using the red triangle. Because I searched the list above in longuns and the one in handguns, I have a suggestion for this list and the one in the handguns forum that the "Beware" lists be combined and placed in the first forum section titled "Calguns.net".

I just believe it would be nice to have one location to look for possible scammers.

This person replied back to a posting of mine WTB. And wanted me to reach out to him in text. He then told me to paypal him the money and he would ship me the gun. After playing along for a while I offered to mail him a check if he gave me his contact information. This shut him up. lol

Always ask for photo proof they have the item and can also put a random object or paper with the date written (not typed) in the photo. Watch out for poorly doctored photos. If you're easily fooled by photoshopped images then maybe this isn't the game for you. Watch for poor grammar and weird vernacular like constantly calling you 'sir'. Finally if you think its a scammer you can use grabify to get their location and IP its usually overseas.

He's definitely active on the forum, he was just on 1 hour ago today.

I'm guessing he did not give you a tracking number. I'd personally post on his other for sale listings to no one else get scammed and it'll be harder for him to ignore you.

I posted in the WTB section and 5 min later he pm's me and shoots me his phone number to contact him about an FN SLP for $600 FIRST RED FLAG. He is a junior member with 1 post. Texts me from an LA area code says that if I send him $600 he will ship to me...I ask where he was located and where he wanted to meet( shop of his choice) he kept asking for my address so he could ship. I told him that is against the Law and I would be happy to meet up at his local so-cal ffl. he then sends what looks like a low res screen shot of the gun which I later found on gun broker. and he wanted my to send him $300 as a deposit. This piece of **** then proceeds to hound me for $300 but still wont tell me where he is located. all texts in broken english. here is the number he texts from 213)817-5056.. he will contact you on pm and send his number to text. my gut tells me he knows he has been had and will change his profile name, but his phone number will be the same

I asked him to send a photo of the same person in the video holding a sheet of paper with today's date on it, no response.

I reported his PM and updated my WTB thread.

User TMTX with phone number 909-264-9063 is a scammer. Email address listed on his profile on calguns is Ynothundreds@gmail.com

I responded to his ad on Armslist but a google search for his number shows he has a profile on calguns as well.. He knowingly sold me a counterfeit Trijicon SRO sight.

When confronted he went radio silent. Buyer beware.
