Default Road conditions to SSZS Location

Anyone know what the current road conditions are to the fireline location off of Fort Irwin Road?

Wanting to see if an RV will have decent access to the shooting location at this time?

Thanks guys

Road conditions are fine. Was out there this last weekend and there was a ton of RVs out there. Unless you have a lowered RV you should be just fine.

Might as well leave the guns at home though, BLM shut down shooting in pretty much all of socal yesterday

You have to go as far north as the grapevine, tehachapi pass, or the Owen valley, or all the way to AZ if you dont want a $1000 ticket

Well I'll be damned!!!! Yeah I don't want a $1k ticket. This royally sucks.. and the deserts are as green as they have been in decades and NOW they lock em all down to shooting. That makes sense!!

Of course... Calguns coming with a fresh plate of FUD.

https://www.blm.gov/sites/blm.gov/fi...ooting-508.pdf

You can see the map clearly shows that the Calico area is not under any sort of a shooting restriction...

Or you could click the link and read the BLM order published yesterday

Or you could quote the whole thing instead of quote-mining to try and push your FUD.

So my buddy ended up calling the Barstow BLM office to find out about this and they informed that there is no shooting restrictions in place. This was only a fire restriction that was imposed. When in doubt, get it from the horses mouth!!!

Thanks guys!

I left the site this afternoon and it's in good shape. Don't forget to use the bypass at the deep rut.

More washed out than in recent years. Still passible by car if you go slow and don't pilot a ricebunner or a ferrari.

FYI - VONS in town is closing May 24th. I think Walmart is going to be the only major grocery in the area.

There's a food4less at Barstow Rd off the 15 (they have a gas station there, too). I was sad to see Big 5 in Barstow close.
