I think you are confused. Its not that some are anti-government, it's the abuses of government's role/over reach that people get tired of.

No it won't and they will. SCOTUS does not care about 2A, they care about corps. The 2A supporters are to GOP as blacks are to Democrats, just cater to them to get extra votes.

The intent of microstamping is to eventually eliminate all semi-auto pistols from the CA roster.
There is legislation proposed that would drop three non-compliant semi-autos for every compliant pistol added to the roster.

Look, whatever it is, it's like always. They pretend to regulate, we pretend to comply. It is so ****ing tedious.

Short memories?

2013, SB374

https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/f...201320140SB374

...and the only reason that it didn't become law is that Gov Brown veto'd it as being unreasonable...

Newsom will sign it when a similar bill comes before him; it's only a question of when.

You are exactly correct.
I easily remember days when we could do things that are now considered felonies in California, which could result in prison time. Example: I could open up the Recycler classifieds, and see numerous private citizens selling HK-91 rifles, AK variants, all manner of AR's, etc. I could call their phone number, and arrange to meet nearly anywhere we agreed upon. If I liked what I saw, and agreed on a suitable price, ca$h was exchanged, and we parted ways. No paperwork, no waiting, no fingerprints, no background check, no nothing. It was at the time 100% totally legal. That is only one example of many. Since then, things have gotten worse, unless viewed by some liberal socialist. If folks who have never experienced buying firearms like that, how would they know?...Unless they like the way things are going. I suspect our Bay Area guy is OK with these infringements.

The way we sway moderates (and maybe all those SARS-2 new gun owners) to our side is by showing them that even with these asinine rules in place (ex. all the bans going back to NFA, the roster, PPT through a FFL, red flag laws, etc.), there has been no significant difference in gun deaths, just like there wasn't during the AWB from '94-'04.

Mark my words, if we do not sway our peers and succeed in voting out anti-gunner politicians (of any party affiliation), there will be a semi-auto ban, followed eventually by a complete ban--first here and then across the nation. We are the last country in the world where guns are essentially legal to own.

Too many semi-autos in possession to ban it. Most handguns made are semi-auto now. So, good luck with a ban I don't think it would be possible to enforce.

BTW the gangs/criminals all have FA converted firearms, anyway.

And how many of these felons will have another firearm in hours or days? Cops take them, they buy another off the street, easy. Criminals gonna criminal.

This.

Our enemy is many things, but stupid is not one of them.

They understand that if they overreach too much, the SCOTUS will come along & rip apart decades worth of their tyranny & work.

They aren't stupid.
