Beautiful, after blasting it looks much more comfortable, before that I thought it was sharp looking. How does it compare comfort and grip wise to checkering?

Turned out nice. It is very comfortable actually and I prefer this over checking. I might even like it better than the dragon skin James did on one of my other springfields.

What endmill or bit does one use to accomplish that?
Very nice

Default CNC or ???

Very nice. Did you CNC that or did you do that manually with an indexing head? I see the machinist's marking paint so I thought that might be manual work and if so KUDOS.
(Kudos either way actually)

I did it on manual mill and rotary table, sandblasted to cover up the mill marks.

Do you have frames at the shop with front checkering that we can feel before getting work done? Considering work on my Springfield 1911 loaded. How do we get pricing?

Great job!
Do you happen to have a pix of the setup on the rotary table? Or can you describe?
