I think it's a little faster because you can fly down 101 from S.J. When I came back last time, it took me a few minutes over two hours back to Ben Lomond.

It's not a bad drive. When you get past Hollister you're out in the bare nothing!

Exclamation Confirming Attendance

So, can we get a general confirmation? a "yea, I'm going" it's coming up this Saturday...

Is anyone interested in meeting up and/or carpooling or caravaning? if so, where's a central meeting spot for everyone?

I'm going to get a few more target stands and I have the bell, but You'll need to bring cardboard for the stands (about 2'X3' pieces) let me know if I can help out with anything else.

Robert

I'm planning on going, as long as I don't get horribly lost.

I'm heading down from Pacifica, so if anybody's on the peninsula along 280 and wants a ride, let me know. I'll bring the Bronco, so I'll have plenty of room, and 4x4 just in case.

I'll try and snag a bunch of empty (and rinsed) coolant bottles from work and fill 'em with water before I head down.

I'll see if I can snag any other interesting targets. I have a dented BMW wheel I plan on putting holes in. IIRC, it's a 17", should ring pretty nice.

I don't know if it would be faster for you to go hwy 1 down or 280 to 85 to101...? If you need directions, look at post #30 in this thread.

I'm gonna try and get there early enough to put out signs to the site. The signs will have "CG" on them.

The 280 route is MUCH faster.

I remember noting that I was passing near/by Panoche on my way to 5 to head to AZ, so I know the general area it's in.

Anybody got coordinates for the area we'll be headed for? I could probably borrow a GPS for that day, if not, I'll get a good lay of the land from Google Earth.

I can extend my carpool pickup/drop off zone into San Jose, since I'll be passing through, if Tweak or anybody else needs a ride.

Here's what I found for coordinates (36.712407038294245, -120.86236596107483) I've never used a GPS so I'm not sure how they work. Does this look right? I took them from the entrance gate on Little Panoche Rd.

Looks right to me. A few too more decimal places than I'm used to, but it should work. Works in Google Earth, at least.

So, were's the area the shooting happens from there? Just in case I'm early or something.

I plan on getting there at about 7:30 or 8:00 so I can go scout the site that we used before and set up my EZ-up. It's about two or three miles in (roughly) There are a couple forks in the road that I'll put signs at so nobody gets lost.

I could use a ride from south city but I always considered 280 to SJ as the scenic route (vs 101) Also I plan on bringing a bunch of guns, ammo, a few chairs, maybe a table if there's room. What kinda vehicle ya got?

PM M. Sage and see if you guys can hook up...

I commuted to South city from the Santa cruz area and 85 to 280 was always alot faster for me

Personally, I would take 280 to 85 to 101 to hwy 25, left on Santa Ana, right on Fairview then left on Airline (hwy 25) again, then left on Panoche Rd then left on Little Panoche Rd... Thats just me... I just hated 101 out of the city, you can fly on 280.

I've got a full size Ford Bronco, so I can fit a lot of crap in it.

I like 280 mainly because I never run into the traffic I do on 101. That and I live a lot closer to 280 than 101.

Send me a PM and we'll figure out when and where to meet.

So far all I have is it mounted on a pole. But I was also gonna secure it with four ropes with stakes or something. (something easy to carry out there) The pole is about 6+- feet long and I have it stuck in the ground now about two feet. I think it will be ok but the rope might give it the extra stability.

Are you gonna make it down? are you bringing any heavy metal?

I'll be in my truck again. This time its scheduled for dry weather.

I'm bringing a damn heavy 4ft x 2ft x 1 1/2in scrap piece of bullet proof Kevlar. Its the stuff they are installing at the Delano hospital emergency room.
Guy says its designed to stop a .50 cal at 50 feet. I don't have any .50 cal but I'm sure someone will have something to at least put a dent in it

Going to try to leave the house early saturday, can't spend the night as I have an ATV class sunday morn.

Food, water, shade, a table, a chair, a tarp to catch your brass so you don't have to pick it out of the grass, targets, and a smile!

It's supposed to be nice this weekend so I would probably bring some sunscreen and a hat. Bring some cash because I think canthavenothingood is bringing some Calguns t-shirts, hats etc.

Gah, crap. I have to bail. I'm really mad about it. I ran out of time getting stuff done, so I have a grand total of 5 rounds of 7.5x55 (and I NEEEEEED to get my K31 scope dialed in), hardly any targets... The list can go on.

I'll try to make the next one. Sorry guys! Hope you have some fun.
