Default Portantino Running for Congress

Portantino, the author of SB 2 is now running for Congress. He wants Schiff's seat in the House.

And if wins, he will do precisely the same thing that Shifty Schiff is doing now. They must both be from SoCal; they both ooze oil.

Hi, I'm Anthony Portantino and I'm gonna be out of a job on December 31, 2024. I've been in elected positions for so long I actually have no real-world skills (or viewpoint) and I will be jobless.

No one will hire me so I'll wind up on the welfare rolls living in a tent.

But this is your opportunity to directly impact the plight of persons eventually experiencing homelessness and joblessness (formerly, "bums"...OK, I'll still be a bum). But what else can I do? I'm 62 and the concept of Medicare in a few years scares me.

VOTE FOR ME for Congress. You've supported that wimpering simp Great American and my best buddy, Adam Schiff for years and I will do less with more than he ever tried to do.
Plus, I'll be able to get back to my fighting weight if I get the F*** out of Cali. I'll show you Washington "Fat Cats"...

I hope this buffoon follows in the same tradition as other has-been California gun control politicians. Hopefully like Yee with a prison sentence, but I'll also settle for DeLeon with an obscure city council position yet still managing to mire himself in controversy by showing himself to be the abject racist that he is.

Gavin Newsom is a lying, cheating slickster and will be is the worst mistake California has ever made if he gets now that he has been elected Governor. Hollywood movie producers look to him and his oleaginous persona as a model for the corrupt "bad guy" politician character. This guy is so greasy, he could lubricate an entire arsenal of AR-15s just by breathing on them.

The beret, the rubber wristband, the "Social Impact Center" t-shirt, that's like the California Commie Starter Pack. What a douchebag.

C'mon, Man. It's not a beret, it's a snap brim cap worn backwards. That way everybody can see his name and know he's a way-cool Senator.

Probably his only redeeming factor.

I read today that Schiff has the largest election fund. I guess Nancy has been nice to him.

I've always voted in person, but it has made little difference here in California. We (conservatives) are the minority, plain and simple.
In fact, even if we were a majority, I would suspect the other party would still fudge the election(s) in their favor.
Sorry, but I'm getting rather skeptical about so-called "free" elections, and am feeling like they are more like "rigged" elections.
That's not going to stop me from voting Republican, though.

Given our top two primary system who stands the best chance against Portantino? All choices look bad but maybe I can keep him out of that seat.

Schiff and Portantino are not competing against each other.

Schiff is vacating the House seat for which Portantino is running and is trying to pick up the Feinstein Senate seat.

If money means anything (and it does) the following have each spent over $1M on their campaigns:
Anthony Portantino (D)
Nick Melvoin (D)
Michael Feuer (D)
Ben Savage (D)
Laura Friedman (D)
Portantino has represented a portion of the district in the CA Senate for the past 12 years. In his last primary, he took 99% of the votes. During the main election, he took 64% of the vote over his Republican opponent.

Feuer is a fervent anti-gunner who has plagued us in the CA Legislature and as Los Angeles City Attorney.

That gives you 3 to pick from.

Feuer should be in jail over the LADWP fiasco. In an any event, with that choice CA is screwed.

To update everyone on the results, Laura Friedman (D) and Alex Balekian (R) advanced to the general election. California's 30th Congressional District has a partisan lean of D+23, so Friedman will represent Adam Schiff's former seat next year.

Goodbye, Anthony Portantino.

Al these schmucks trample on citizen rights and get applauded by their embicile followers. Those are the trophies they swagger to claim ' higher office'. Tapeworms!

The Congressional district where this election took place covers an area essentially impossible for Republicans to win. Blocking Portantino from upgrading his office to Washington, D.C. was the best realistic outcome.
